How do you overlook a living piece of history and specifically for this event?

Crusty or not, she wore the uniform and is Queen. What else does one need to get an invite:06:

Ok, she might have that universal old person smell. Just remember, one day we too will have that universal old person smell.:D They are that much more wiser about the touching thing now.

Are you implying "The One" is less than perfect?

No, I'm implying that everyone seems to be blaming Obama when a dog poos on their lawn.

Trust the French to not invite the Brits. Thats one of the oldest rivalries in the world. How many times have they gone to war with each other?

If GWB wasn't prez for 8 years the Queen would have been invited. But since she was given an I-pod.....what can top that?

Something fishy here.

The only story written about this seems to be the Burns' story about what is reported in a British Tabloid.

Other news sources just seem to be copying the Burns' story.

Has this story been confirmed by a source not quoting a tabloid?

Typical of the French.

Precisely....would have been a tad embarrassing to see them suddenly flee in terror or surrender to her as she arrived :DL

Time for the golden oldie me thinks:

An elderly British gentleman of 83 arrived in Paris by plane.

At the French immigration desk, the man took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry-on bag.

"You have been to France before, Monsieur?" the Immigration officer asked, sarcastically.

The elderly gentleman admitted he had been to France previously.

"Then you should know well enough to have your passport ready."

The British gentleman says, "The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."

"Impossible. The British always have to show their passports on arrival in France!"

The elderly gentleman gave the French Immigration Officer a long hard look.

Then he quietly explained;

"Well, the last time I was here, I came ashore on Juno Beach on D-Day in June 1944, and I couldn't find any *********g Frenchmen to show it to."

Although, I do find odd the phenomenon still surrounding Bush.

Btw, am I the only person that finds the word "phenomenon" to be the most irritating English word to spell?

Hehe, Radio 4 has a program called 'Any Questions' followed by it's sister show 'Any Answers'.
Anyway, long story short, some old military fellow commented that he could see no reason to go to the D-day anniversary, in the same way he saw no reason to go there in 1944 :DL
Dry sarcasm at its best.
