Any you guys see the movies on Turner Classic Movies last weekend?
Destination Tokyo :down:and We dive at Dawn.
Besides the intense propaganda of both films, I preferred the Brit movie. The scenes on the U class were pretty realistic IMO. The fleet boat looked lousy....
What did you guys think?

Yes. It makes you want to drive a U class in the Med:cool:

How can you not like Cary Grant? Tony Curtis says it was this movie which inspired him to become an actor. Later he was able to play a major role in Operation Petty Coat w/ Cary.
BTW today Red October looks very hollywood and unrealistic, but I wager it got many folks interested in the silent service.
All sub movies are way cool!

I agree.:yep:, Cary Grant is cool. But the interior of the fleet boat was kinda cheesy. Run silent, Run deep was actually shot on a fleet boat.
I guess this is understandable as Destination Tokyo was made in 1943.
The interior of the U class in We dive at dawn was much better

Just watch it anytime you want...legally, Looks like you can stream it or DL it.
