Sub Commander: Tactics and Strategy for Wwii Submarine Simulations
by Richard G. Sheffield

Is this book worth hunting down? If anyone has it, I would be interested in reading their views of this book.

I haven't seen that particular book but I have the other Sheffield book "40 great Submarine Simulator War adventures" it's very old, being written for the original Silent Service & Up Periscope on the C-64.

There is a short introduction to tactics at the beginning. Then the book looks at 40 historic WWII Pacific sub exploits and gives you an idea of how to setup similar encounters within the confines of Silent Service & Up Periscope.

I see some of his other books(on flight sims) have been put online here (http://www.flightsimbooks.com/), worth a look perhaps to see what the format & writing style is like. I see that he has given permission for this, I wonder if he'd do the same for his subsim books , would be a great asset for us on Subsim.
