Events:
Day One:
Letum's body is found floating in the Reactor deck.
Some of the civilian team drag his remains from the water and UnderseaLcpl prods them a bit in the cargo hall.
The other survivors discuss setting off more explosives and swap scary stories about Norway.
There is some mild concern about the vast unattended nuclear reactor everyone is sitting on.
The science team think about looking for clues in the flood water.

Day Two:
Vice Admiral Stealth Hunter is found dead in his rooms. He is dressed in
a red gown and hood.
Task Force reveals that the rescue team received distress messages before the explosions and strange events took place.
There is speculation about sabotage.

As Taskforce heads off to his bunk in the dark Jimbuna, Mookiemookie
and Tarjak are all behind him in the shadows. All three attack him at
once and take no chances - he could be the monster!

As Taskforce slips into the peace of death he shows no sign of being
anything other than human. In his eyes is a mix of disbelief and terror.
He leaves behind a wife and 3 children as well as a career in deep sea
rescue.

Raptor is declared the new leader.

Day 3:
Roman2440 - Is found dead his body is...strange.
A very Supermarket's body is found close by.

I take it that the reactor has SCRAMed and we're running on batteries. If so, I also take it that there is enough battery power to run the scrubbers 24/7 for the time we need, if not the lighting.

The state of the reactor is unknown. Unless anyone fancies a swim with the
corpses and chemicals, it will stay unknown.

A few remaining scrubbers are running for the 12 hours when the lights are
off. Most scrubbers where destroyed in the explosions. Don't worry about O2
or CO2 tho. With a crew of 20 and such a vast space in the ship you have
enough air so long as the remaining scrubbers keep going.

Not clean air mind. The whole place stinks of sulphur and smoke.

1. Are they a military rescue crew?
2.What nationality (i guess British ) or multinational (like sum joint nato sumthing rescue)

1 I dont think so, I believe they are a government funded experimental sub prodject.

2 Im 95% sure they are kind of a combo of different countrys. (ex acouple of british, american, ect.)

But letum would be able to awnser better.:up:

but the sub is English, hence the HMS and English ranks used onboard.

There isn't going to be any vote today and yes, it is an extended day.
It will be clear when you need to vote.

When we do start voting the deadline will be 12:00 GMT.

For now just make your self at home and get to know the rest of the survivors
whilst you can and they are.

Would it help if we managed to work out the design details/backstory of the sub? You never know what might be a plot point.

We know it runs off a lead-cooled reactor, as established by the in-game chatter. I conjecture that it has multiple pressure hulls, like a Typhoon-class, and was thus (at least partially) built by the Russians, given that the entire submarine hasn't been crushed flat. (Aren't retcons wonderful?)

Since it's an international crew, it's chartered by the Royal Navy. Someone already pointed that out. No ultra-sensitive materials onboard, so everything is about civilian-level--that includes sonar, radio, and ROVs. No torpedoes and no ESM/etc., and probably lax on sound discipline. She's not built to fight, after all.

I highly doubt part of the vessel is built by the Russians, they aren't the only ones capable of building those. There are torpedo tubes but I doubt the boat is carrying any torpedoes on this trip

In the future I will confine myself to exploring the spaces that are definitely unflooded, and will not venture into the Schrodinger engine rooms.:sunny:

If there is a majority vote against the leader at any time there will be a mutiny. Check the first post in the game for details.

Well, the first monster died on day two, the second and final one would have
died on day 5. I took the decision to give Nisgies the choice to become
another to avoid a short game. partly, this was inspired by myself receiving
the same choice from Neal in the last game (I chose to remain human).

It was very, very far from certain thatNisgeis would achieve victory.
I'm sure it will be clear after reading his account in the game thread that it
was entirely a result of his own good play and a bit of luck.

Last game their where 5 monsters, this game their where only 3 and only
one was active at any one time (and often none where active!). They did
very well to win!

Now for my side,

Initially I did not know who to suspect, so I decided to pick on the idle victims, those who had not posted after the first day or two, I figured that doing this would push the game forward. Unfair, perhaps, but at that point I was under the mistaken impression that I could only abstain three times (don't ask me how I got that idea into my head :damn:)
So, here is Oberon, a thirty something techie from a Rescue sub with a background in fleet boats and a bit of knowledge of reactors on board the boat of the damned, what is he to do?
Mainly engage with techie conversation with Raptor and start the bug juice drinking craze, Baggygreen PM'd me with suspicsions of Raptor, but at that time I was not convinced.
As a player, the external clues were there, the red cloak worn by the Admiral, Raptors book (but was it a game equipment or one created by Raptor?) and the sonar printout.
The Sonar printout, once received, as easy enough to figure out roughly what it was, for me anyway, but for a engineer? Not so easy, so Oberon had no idea what it all meant, nor did he know how to operate the sonar station.
It was around this point that the Spanish Inqu...erm...I mean the Investigation showed up again, I had been on the receiving end of these chaps in the last game, and a scary process it was too. Firstly an apology from UnderseaLCpl came through, indicating that the interrogation in the last game came from faulty intel leaked by Hitman. I provided my details honestly and gave them my list of people who I suspected, Raptor, Jimbuna, Jalu3, Tarrasque.
What a great judge of character I am :har:
I realised at this point that everyone had different pieces of the puzzle, and if we were to make any sense of where we were, we had to share all the pieces we had. So I came forward and told everyone what I knew, hoping to get the same level of openness in return.
Fail.
I don't know whatever became of Tarjaks DNA tests, whether it was a in-game plot or a player made plot. Either which way, they were undoubtably killed with Tarjak. :ping:
After this, I believe I voted for Tarrasque, and received a PM from Tarjak saying that this would result in the death of a human, I asked his proof, he replied the seer. Little did we know that the seer was a spy! :haha:
Shortly afterwards, Jimbuna did his Crimson Tide bit and threw Raptor in the brig, at this point I decided to have little Oberon start to feel the pressure as he was on good terms with Raptor. In his descent into madness I wanted him to free Raptor and Baggygreen but regrettably I could not. At this point I was as near as darnit sure that Jim was the remaining beast, and in my final vote, voted for him as he voted for me.
I expected to be put in the brig in a strait jacket, but wound up dead instead.
So, how many here thought I was a monster, eh? :haha: Amazing what a little bit of paranoia and talking to oneself in the third person can do, eh?

I think I pushed the war-scarred altruistic hero thing a bit too far in the end, my idea was to keep the death count as low as possible until rescue arrives (Of course, Lt. Raptor doesn't know rescue will only arrive after everyone is dead)

Not necessarily true.
I did have a rescue before death plot ready, that would still see the game run
to the bitter end, but I decided that such a dramatic plot change would
interfere with the game too much.



The Thanatus was rigged with explosives by the Vice Admiral, a member of
some cult that wanted to sacrifice the Thanatus and her Crew to the spirits
of the abyss.

Yes, thanks Letum for running the game. Hmmm, future improvements... well I for one would like to see 'official game actions' put in my the game master, then we won't have any of this second guessing is that a 'real book' or a 'fake book'. That's been a problem in both games, as people make up so much stuff, that the genuine game thread gets lost among the blizard of player created content. So, if Raptor finds a book, then Letum says Raptor finds a book. The way things were, the game thread got lost as no one knew if things were real or not.

Making up background info as long as it's plausible seems fine, like how the reactor works. Otherwise I don't think anybody made up anything other than what Letum said (And, of course, the numerous guns and knives you barbarians seem to spawn out of nowhere)

Next game I'd like to see an actual plot progressing through the game, maybe with passing NPCs making brief appearances and stuff happening around, of course, that wouldn't work if the location is as isolated as in this one...
