Raptor is fine for my leader vote, not really any evidence to go on for the lynching. I can't quite work out the significance of the red gown, perhaps a clue to someone's name :)? Abstain from lynch vote.

Oberon
05-24-09, 05:42 AM
"Yaargh!"

*Oberon jumps and smacks his head on the edge of the hatch.*

"OW! ****!!"

*He rubs his head and looks around.*

"Well...that's a relief, well, as much as a relief as this can be...damn those nightmares..."

*He shudders*

*He examines the wiring again and after a few minutes, traces a wire to a big black box, he taps the box with a screwdriver and then finds screws on it and undoes them. He lifts the cover of the box off and then yelps and swiftly puts it back on again.*

"Just as I thought..."

*He gets up and heads towards the mess hall, he hears of AVSM and Romans deaths.*

(to himself)
"AVSM is dead? Oh...oh...that's not good. Not good at all. Hmmm...and Roman some kind of tentacle monster...just like the one I saw...no...no, that's just not possible..."

*He looks around at the gathered men.*

"Raptor seems to be doing a good job as leader, well, better than the invisible Admiral did until he got killed...I still distrust Chad."

Jimbuna
05-24-09, 05:46 AM
Jimbuna steps up to the bar and pours himself a concoction (a mixture of all the different bug juice flavours/colours available) and downs the lot in one go.....*wipes his chin and burps*

"You know something?...If I were a detective in a previous career and looking at the deaths up to this period in time, I'd say seeing that the rescue team is now down to a 50% staffing level and apart from the Vice Admiral, the sub and science crews are pretty much at 100% staffing levels"

*Pauses for a few seconds to ensure he has all their attention*

"Now if I were a gambling man I'd say the rescue crew have been pretty much cleansed and someone or something is engineering peoples suspicions away from the real source of the threat....namely the occupants of the two remaining crews"

*He pours himself another large mug of bug juice and looks in the general direction of those assembled before him*

"Now who amongst the other two crews has yet to taste this vile sh!t?"

Jimbuna

I honestly don't see the need to vote for a new leader unless the existing one is killed or steps down.

Looking at #251 :hmmm:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarrasque_(Dungeons_&_Dragons)

Tarrasques are gigantic lizard-like creatures which exist only to eat, kill and destroy.

My lynch vote is for Tarrasque

*grabs his flashlight and checks that it works*

I'm going to check the communication logs and documents in the comms area and the Admiral's quarters, maybe I could find something interesting there...

*walks to the conning tower and begins inspecting random papers*

NIGHT 3
LIGHTS OFF

The lights flicker and die again.
The strange sounds of the sea rise up again.

baggygreen and JALU3 go to a quiet part of the ship and start talking.
Soon they are arguing.

Baggygreen reaches into his pocket and raises a knife above JALU, but before he can bring it down into JALU's chest Raptor1 grabs
Baggy's arm and with the help of some other survivors, drag him off to the brig.

Baggygreen now sits alone in the brig.

*hands Oberon the knife*

Take this and throw it into the flooded compartment

*returns to the Admiral's cabin and continues searching*

*Oberon takes the knife and retreats into the rescue sub and examines the knife closely.*

Jimbuna
05-24-09, 08:44 AM
*Jimbuna already in the rescue sub carrying out systems checks*

"What you got there Oberon......looks like the implement of some back stabber"

Oberon
05-24-09, 09:12 AM
"Eh? Oh...it's a knife baggygreen tried to stab Jalu3 with it...Raptor told me to throw it into the water, but I think I'll hold onto it. Two reasons really, one is to give myself something to defend myself with, and two is that, although those so-called sea monsters do a fine enough job killing us without weapons, I'd rather not be the one to arm them."

*He holds the knife to the torch.*

"And besides...something just doesn't seem right about it..."

Nokia
05-24-09, 09:32 AM
*Finished the coffee left in the mug and goes to the rescue sub with his thermos and said mug now again filled with coffee*

"So you two are already here, good. I really think someone should keep watch tonight, I don't see the point in everyone just sleeping and hoping nothing happens. And what you got there Oberon? A knife? Good good now at least some of us have a way of defending ourselves. So what you think we should do next?"

Silverraptor

"Oberon was just saying that something doesn't seem right about the knife"

"as far as keeping watch tonight goes....be my guest, I doubt I'll be getting much sleep anyway"

I'll tell you both this though....we're the last of the recue crew so it's quite obvious something or things don't want this iron coffin rescued!"

"The brig is locked from the outside. I don't think baggygreen is going anywhere."

CaptainHaplo

And who would that be Chad?

*walks to Chad and salutes*

Your concern is valid, Mr. Chad, but the brig has no windows, so such a guard wouldn't be able to peer inside. Also, if Mr. Baggy tries to break through, we will surely hear it...

*sips his bug juice*

...those doors are mighty thick...

TarJak
05-24-09, 03:48 PM
TarJak and the science team have finished examining Roman's body. In hte darkness they confer over the data.

"I can't believe that guy tried to kill you Jalu!"

"You seem to be taking it very calmly."

"Perhaps we should move AVSM's body in here and examine it as well."

"Even though he looks nomal, I think we need to check for signs of the same changes."

The medical team grope through the darkness to where AVSM lies, pick him up and move him into the medical facility.

Jimbuna
05-24-09, 04:16 PM
*Jimbuna approaches TarJak*

"Your findings could well prove enlightening. I'm looking at other means to decouple the rescue craft and get us off this Godforsaken tub"

Oberon
05-24-09, 04:41 PM
*Oberon tucks the knife in his pocket and chews the inside of his lip.*

"Tis the hunting hour once again..."

*He looks around the corridor outside the rescue submarine.*

*To himself*
"...Who of us will be slain by Him tonight?"

DAY 4
LIGHTS ON

No one had a good night's sleep, but everyone apart from baggygreen
(who is in the brig) turns up in front of Raptor1 for roll-call.

Still nervous, the survivors call another lynch vote.
You may vote for any survivor.

CaptainHaplo
05-24-09, 08:02 PM
My lynch vote goes for Chad - he seems to want someone off on their own "guarding" something that doesn't need guarding - and he hasnt drank anything verified as non-seawater.

"I say there is something about that Chad fella. Not to mention he was all about killing a fellow scientist that has demonstrated they CAN'T be the monster. Go after someone you know isn't the culprit? Either your psycho or your a monster. Either way - you need to be - scientifically speaking - rendered ..... inert."

So, nobody is dead? That must mean that either Mr. Baggy is...the beast...or somebody is trying to get us to think he is...the beast...

I will keep him in the brig for now...

Well first the head injury when the boat went down::
Wake up, and I almost get stabbed.
I guess it is like being down in Barrio Logan again, messing with those surface guys from 32nd Street. :haha:
Well better than the Trophy Lounge I guess.

Thanks for the assist Raptor1, a knife in the chest would have been a bad thing me thinks.
I wonder what I can do to help.
Maybe the scientist need to all start investigating, because that's what we do right?
::motions to the other scientist to beginning searching for clues::

Past 0700PDT 25MAY I will be AFK until 1900PDT on 27MAY
I am going to visit family in LV, NV.

I would like to do some investigating before I start Lynching
Abstain on Lynch Vote, for now

SandyCaesar

"Or it could be that these monsters are just screwing with us. Baggygreen surely isn't the only one, right?

Once again, another round of ABSTAINs on lynch vote and Raptor as the crew captain. Regarding the bug juice, though...what if the monster isn't allergic to it after all?"

Nisgeis
05-25-09, 02:45 AM
Vote Raptor for continuation of leader - no one has died. Not sure about a lynch vote, baggygreen is in the brig and no one died, so that's a possibility, but as has been said the things (at least two with two deaths in one night) may be trying to put suspicion onto him. Abstain from lynch vote.

Nokia
05-25-09, 03:28 AM
*Wakes up after having slept on the floor outside the rescue submarine*

"My back is killing me!"

*Goes to the bar and hears the news that no one has died during the night.*

"So we actually got as lucky as I was hoping. And Baggy is still in the brig, yes? But I ask you to remember that this does not prove anything, the monster might be playing games with us or then someone got attacked but something was protecting them."

*Goes to the coffeemaker and fills his thermos once again then takes the filled mug and drinks.*

*After some time gets some food, goes to work on the sub then back to the bar after a couple of hours*

"Chad has been acting a bit weird as captain said and he has still not dranck anything that's why I vote for him to be lynched. Raptor1 is doing fine leading so I think he should continue to be the leader"

Thinks are definitely turning farcical on this tin can.....it would appear people are turning into sheep. They are quite happy to trust one another from day one and form alliances apparently without any evidence to support that, yet use the same excuse for abstaining from day one.

Insufficient evidence to vote for a lynching should equally mean insufficient evidence to form an alliance :hmmm:

I vote for Tarrasque....that name still bothers me.

Oberon
05-25-09, 06:37 AM
*Oberon stretches and yawns*

"Wow...actually slept well for once..."

*He listens for the inevitable death report, and hears none.*

"Oh ho...tricky, tricky...either the beast is trying to trick us into thinking old baggygreen is the killer or he really is. Well, a few nights should tell us, Raptor is doing a good job as leader, and since there has been no deaths, I shall abstain from any lynch votings."

Night 4
Lights Off

Raptor informs the survivors that the lights will be off for a shorter time than
usual tonight to avoid overcharging one of the battery cells.

As the noise of the day dimms a new sound can be heard in the dark. A faint
ping...ping...ping... After a while it quietens and dies away.

Lieutenant Chad made his way upstairs to search the captain's quartos
under torch light. As he reached the top he looked up and saw Nokia and
CaptainHaplo. They look at Chad with disgust, certain he was the foul
monster that roamed the ship at night. Swiftly they pushed him down the
flight of stairs he had just climbed and he was dispatched on the steel floor
below.

Oberon, who tried to have Chad lynched before, looked on in
silence as the blood drained from the back of Chad's skull.

Oberon
05-25-09, 07:32 AM
*Oberon sighs and looks down.*

*He punches a bulkhead, injuring his fist.*

"Dammit..."

*He picks up Chads corpse and takes it away to the Cargo Hall to put him in a bodybag alongside the others.*

Oberon
05-25-09, 07:35 AM
*After disposing of Chad, Oberon finds Raptor.*

"Hey...look, I know that you're a nuc but, does this boat have a sonar room? It's just...not long after you put the lights out...I could have sworn I heard pinging..."

Jimbuna
05-25-09, 08:20 AM
*Jimbuna approaches Oberon*

"Nice one.....less than half of us poor unfortunates are bothering to rid us all of this menace and the real culprit/culprits are sitting back enjoying the show"

*As he walks off in the direction of the rescue vessel he is heard to say "Yep....a right bunch I've been landed with this time. They should have called this tin coffin HMS Petticoat or better still, HMS Abstention"*

JALU3
05-25-09, 08:25 AM

Nokia
05-25-09, 09:28 AM
"I.....I....I can't believe this... I can't believe I've just killed and innocent man...this....this must be a dream! THIS CAN'T REALLY BE HAPPENING!!"

*Sits down on the floor and tries to calm down*

How could we....how could I....this is the reason I haven't voted the previous days...

*After calming down goes to the cargo hall and sits down beside Chads body*

"I know this won't help you but...I'm sorry...I voted for you for the wrong reasons and I know I should not have done so... Rest in peace my friend."

*After sitting there about 15 minutes goes back to the bar passing jimbuna on the way and hears what he said*

"If you think that then apparently you don't know how fitting the name Thanatus really is"

*Enters the bar area*

"Gentlemen, don't you think the name of the sub is a bit strange, at least that's what I thought that the first time I heard about it. And I finally remember why it sounded strange and familiar, Thanatos was the personification of Death in Greek mythology. And guess what, in Latin the name is translated Thanatus, now earlier Raptor1 said the explosions looked like sabotage. But I'm afraid it might be worse! Now I don't believe the name and sabotage are mare coincidence I think this was planned by someone higher up. Now I'm loyal to the government but this is just too strange to be coincidence! What i'm thinking of is that these "things" might be the product of some experiment gone wrong or something.

Raptor1
05-25-09, 09:54 AM
They killed Chad?!?!!?!

*sighs*

See, this is the sort of thing that happens when you go about slaughtering random people...

*walks to Oberon*

What was that you said about pinging?

Oberon
05-25-09, 10:31 AM
*Oberon stratches the back of his head*

"It was strange, just as the noise quietened down, I heard pinging, like sonar pinging...if there is a sonar suite on this boat I must have a listen, it could be that someone is attempting to contact us."

Raptor1
05-25-09, 10:40 AM
Yeah, there's a sonar room in the conning tower, don't know if anything works there anymore though...

Oberon
05-25-09, 11:49 AM
*Oberon shrugs and grins*

"Only one way to find out...of course, I'm no sonar techy, but I can tell a ping from a fish farting."

*He heads up to the conning tower and sits down in front of the sonar console.*

"Hmmm, looks a bit like the Swiftsures suite, so, in theory..."

*He puts on the headphones and starts sweeping the waters.*

Silverraptor
05-25-09, 12:45 PM
*Sits with his back to the wall, facing everyone. His life could end in an instant. Something attacking them at night, or a mob in the day. He proved he could stay up 24 hours. Now it looks like he needs to break the record.

He sips coffee to keep him awake.

He sure hopes that Raptor1 can keep him safe from those who are out for blood.*

DAY 5
LIGHTS ON

No one had much time to sleep before the lights came on again.
They will not go off again until 5am tomorrow because the batteries need
to be loaded for a while in order to prevent cell 5 from overcharging.

Everyone not in the brig turns up for a quick roll-call.

The lynch vote has almost become routine and is called again.
You may vote for any survivor.

Silverraptor
05-25-09, 01:25 PM
"Guys! I think I heard propeller noises from outside! Is it the other rescue sub!?!?!"

Oberon
05-25-09, 01:33 PM
*Oberon puts down the sonar headphones*

"Well, I'll be damned if I can figure any of that out..."

*He puts the print-out in his pocket.*

"I wonder what that pinging was..."

*To Raptor.*

"The murders only happen when the lights go off, so, surely if we keep an eye on him and keep Jalu3 away from him, we can escort Baggygreen to the sonar station and get some sense out of this?"

The printout from the sonar room:

"I agree with Oberon, sir. The sooner we get out of here, the better."

Nokia
05-25-09, 01:38 PM
*Runs to Oberon*

"I have something to tell you. Last night I got up to get some coffee because I could not get any sleep and something weird happened. It was quite faint so I put my ear to the hull in hopes to hear it better. It was definitely propellers! But they did not sound like those on a rescue sub, at least none of ours, maybe a surface vessel or some other sub I could not tell."

Tarrasque
05-25-09, 01:42 PM
*Overhears Nokia*

"Aye. I heard them too. Couldn't tell you from what vessel they were from though."

Oberon
05-25-09, 01:48 PM
*Oberon ponders and then nods.*

"I didn't hear them...but I did find something in the printer in the sonar room, and this boats sonarman is in the brig..."

*He strokes his chin, now getting bristled with stubble.*

"Raptor...I think that a meeting in the bar room might be an idea, so that we can all talk about the current situation and any thing we might have heard, such as those propellors, or found, such as this printout."

Jimbuna
05-25-09, 01:57 PM
*Jimbuna enters the room*

"If you've got the sonar to work why not send out intermittent pings...especially if you hear propellor sounds overhead?"

"It was probably a merchantman anyway...a search vessel would have been sending active soundings to try and pinpoint us"

Oberon
05-25-09, 02:01 PM
*Oberon looks a bit sheepish*

"Frankly Jim, I haven't got a clue how to work it. I just hit a few keys and found the printout sitting in the queued items tray. I'd be just as likely to send out dimensions on playmate of the month as send out a ping."

Silverraptor
05-25-09, 02:03 PM
"But is there anyway to attract their attention?"

Oberon
05-25-09, 02:05 PM
*Oberon thinks for a moment.*

"We could bang on the hull...but...think about it..."

*He lowers his voice and looks around.*

"Do we REALLY want to draw more attention and perhaps more monsters, towards us?"

SandyCaesar
05-25-09, 02:07 PM
"I'm worried about the active sonar, though. Given the battery condition, we might not have the juice to do it.

If we do...what frequency were those pings? If they were high-frequency, that means it was close. Low-freq, less likely. We're deep in the SOFAR channel here, and low-freq sonar can travel almost around the globe...

What can it be? Do we have any sonarmen on board? I only have minimal training in this sort of thing..."

Oberon
05-25-09, 02:09 PM
*Oberon sighs again.*

"The Thanatus's sonar man is in the brig. I don't know about any of the civilian crew though...this is one of the reasons I'd like us to hold a meeting so we can sort out who knows what."

Jimbuna
05-25-09, 02:12 PM
"Why does it have to be a monster? Couldn't it be a simple case of a deranged and deformed collection of retards....a throwback from some top secret experiment? Some transformation that only takes place in a darkened environment?"

"Get everyone in the same room overnight....rig a small light so everyone is visible...then I'll be happy to depend on my little friend"

*Taps on the 9mm Browning under his tunic*

SandyCaesar
05-25-09, 02:17 PM
"Sirs, I have a suggestion. Because the mob mania has died down a little, can we ask Raptor1 to take Baggygreen out of the brig, for now? He might know something, it's his sonar suite after all. Besides...how much food is in there anyway?"

Raptor1
05-25-09, 02:19 PM
*rummages through the papers in the captain's drawers, before noticing a strange tome lying on the floor, partly obscured by a heap of papers*

What's this...

*picks it up. it is a heavy book, with a strange inscription on it's cover. Flaps through the pages and sees that it is full of strange markings and texts, describing strange rituals, monsters and black magic. the book appears quite worn and used*

*runs to the bar, places the book down upon the counter*

Maybe you people would like to take a look at what the Admiral has been reading...

SandyCaesar
05-25-09, 02:23 PM
"Hey, Call of Cthulhu! Who's got the percentage dice?":haha:

CaptainHaplo
05-25-09, 02:25 PM
*poking my head into the room.

"I overheard the idea of a meeting - and I concur. I don't like being partially responsible for the death of a fellow human, but we are sitting in a precarious place. If we want to all work together, we better start somewhere. As for why its a monster - unless you seem to think that Roman was just some freak of nature by mere coincidence, its safe to say that there are more than just humans on this boat. Also the way some have died have been due to injuries no human could create.

As a scientist, I deal only in cold facts, as hard as that is. There IS at least one "something inhuman" among us, and I suggest we find it or them and remove them from the equation - so that we have a chance at survival."

Raptor1
05-25-09, 02:27 PM
Quiet, Mr. SandyCaesar, this isn't the time to be playing role-playing games...

Oberon
05-25-09, 02:33 PM
*Oberon takes a look at the book.*

"This is dark magic...dark indeed...perhaps he was a follower of the beast which devoured Romans soul..."

*He pulls out the print-out from his pocket.*

"Let me tell you the two things I know, firstly, AVSM, rest his soul, was a guardian, a man who protects others from attacks by fierce beasts, it is regrettable that he lost his life in his line of duty, however a guardian protects another, and cannot protect himself."

*He takes the print-out and pins it up on the notice-board.*

http://www.b3tards.com/u/57a418c694bc7c6296b3/bed.jpg

"This is what I found in the printer in the sonar room...I do not understand what it means...to me it looks like a piece of modern art, but perhaps one of our civilian scientists would be able to understand it better than I."

*Oberon turns and puts both hands down on a table.*

"Now...who else has information?"

Raptor1
05-25-09, 02:43 PM
*looks at the printout*

Could this be a sort of...sonar map of the landscape around us?

I know that makes no sense, but sense stopped being important in the last few days

*pauses for a few seconds*

...Does anybody know the location we were in before the explosions started?

Tarrasque
05-25-09, 02:50 PM
"Baggygreen had a copy of that in his belongings aswell.

It appears to be a sonar map of the area where we've landed. I'm guessing that the black spot is the Thanatus but as for the surrounding shapes, I've no idea. They seem too regular to be natural to me though.

Also there appears to be some kind of conspiracy onboard as well. They call themselves the 'Investigation' and appear to have a number of people onboard involved. They claim that they 'are on the human side' but they also claim that should someone go against them, they have sufficient clout to have that person lynched."

Jimbuna
05-25-09, 03:07 PM

"Let me tell you the two things I know, firstly, AVSM, rest his soul, was a guardian, a man who protects others from attacks by fierce beasts, it is regrettable that he lost his life in his line of duty, however a guardian protects another, and cannot protect himself."

*He takes the print-out and pins it up on the notice-board.*

http://www.b3tards.com/u/57a418c694bc7c6296b3/bed.jpg

Firstly, how do you know AVSM was a Guardian? Did he have an amulet or some such about his person? I was also under the impression from the old folk tales that a Guardian COULD protect himself from an attack, from all, but the most powerful of creatures? Furthermore, if the guardian was felled in the line of duty, then his charge would also have been slain, and if AVSM was felled in the line of duty, then AVSM must have been protecting Roman. But... you seem to know things that I think you should explain further, as your current explanation is lacking in detail.

Secondly that image, if the brightness corresponds to height, then the thing with a balck blob on it has the same shape as a square based pyramid. Surely though, the sub should be at the centre of the sonar scan, not to one side, where the black blob is?

Silverraptor
05-25-09, 06:59 PM
"Baggygreen had a copy of that in his belongings aswell.

It appears to be a sonar map of the area where we've landed. I'm guessing that the black spot is the Thanatus but as for the surrounding shapes, I've no idea. They seem too regular to be natural to me though.

Also there appears to be some kind of conspiracy onboard as well. They call themselves the 'Investigation' and appear to have a number of people onboard involved. They claim that they 'are on the human side' but they also claim that should someone go against them, they have sufficient clout to have that person lynched."

"Me too. They've been bugging me to vote their way or they'd kill me. I think they tried to do it the night Chad was killed, but the comotion stopped them! I don't know what to do, but we need to stop them!":nope:

Baggy would be right on that list too, but seeing as he is locked in the brig, I can't say he has had a chance to drink anything. Not to mention, the chances of 2 monsters in the rescue crew are unlikely.

Unless..... maybe the "rescue crew" isn't really a rescue crew at all....
What if some of them ARE the monsters - sabotaging the rescue sub so that even if someone else found us, the couldnt rescue us in time? Something we will have to consider going forward."

"I strongly suggest anyone that wants to avoid being voted into the next world get into the bar and drink some known good bug juice before the next death occurs."

"Also - if someone is "on the human side" - how can they be if they threaten a lynching? Either your human - or not. You may have some special ability, but your still human, no? If yes, then lynching someone on their own team makes no sense. Anyone who would threaten to lynch another human KNOWINGLY to coerce - can't be trying to survive, as we need ALL our talents and wits to live through this. I suggest anyone making such a threat is very likely a monster among us, one way or the other!"

What Silverraptor says is true. Everyone on this boat has been contacted by the investigation at one point or another, whether they know it or not. Some of you have spoken to, or been interrogated by me, as well.

Silverraptor has been under investigation for a while now, but the move to lynch him yesterday was thwarted by too little action too late on our part while we waited for some more evidence.

What you all need to know now is that the investigation is on your side, and that Silverraptor is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, a monster. When the time comes, we expect to see everyone on this boat vote to lynch him, with no brig sentence.

@ CH, lynch SR today and then decide if I'm the enemy.

"Interesting conclusion, UnderseaLcpl. I've known for a while that you've been suspicious of him...but 'beyond the shadow of a doubt', hmm?

On the other side of the coin...how do I trust you on this one? By your own admission no less than five people have claimed to be guardians, and Silver was one of them. Now it would make sense for them to do that, so that the monsters wouldn't go for them...where's your proof beyond that? Am I to believe that all five are monsters? Or is this just another hunch?"

But Undersea - I am a scientist. I cannot act on mere supposition. I have no fact that tells me that I should go with your advice. What I do have is as close to fact as I can get right now that your wrong about SilverRaptor. That means either my facts are wrong, or you are. As a scientist, I have to go with the limited data that I have. Will that suffice or shall I have some more?

Now, I understand that you want proof of our accusations against SR, but the fact of the matter is that we cannot go around just plastering all our information about for everyone to see. It would compromise security and hamper interrogation effectiveness.

Lynch him today, and if he isn't a monster, I'll vote to lynch myself tommorrow, and encourage everyone else to do the same. I spent four days interrogating the guy, believe me when I say I know, and I will stake my life on it.

NIGHT 5
LIGHTS OFF

The master switch is thrown again and main power turns off in Thanatus.

A small group of four set out to seek revenge for their former comrades. They
walk through Thanatus' corridors in silence looking for their victim.
UnderseaLcpl looks straight at Silverraptor. Neither of them have become
well trusted over the past day. Nokia, Nisgeis and TarJak join UnderseaLcpl
and they corner Silverraptor.
Alerted by the noise, Mookiemookie wanders over. The lynching group seam
certain that Silverraptor is the monster, however Silverraptor protests
loudly and look nervous. A thick, black liquid starts to drip from Silverraptors
sleaves and touser legs. The colour drains from his face, but then his skin
flashes bright blue, then red.
shocked, the lynching team hesitate for a second, but it is long enough for
Silverraptor to dart aside, many tentecles splaying from where once where
his arms. He leaps upon Mookiemookie and engulfs his head within the vast
beak that now takes up the few bits of Silverraptor's face that are not
coverd by his vast watery eyes.
Overcoming their fear, Nokia, Nisgeis, TarJak and Undersea jump in to the
flailing mass of tentcles.

Silverraptor and Mookiemookie's corpses are laied out in the hall for all to

I for one want off this boat like everyone else, and want to get whatever is killing our fellow boat mates. Right now what I see is a crew who haven't been given direct as to how to fish out the "anti-town" "mafia" faction. So if this keeps up, I might as well just stop playing.
Am I suppose to be a detective? And ask to do faction checks?
Am I suppose to be a medic? And ask to heal someone from poison or give an additional life?
Am I suppose to be a bodyguard and protect someone from being hit in the night?

That was quite a good one in a rhetorical sense I thought.

The problem you and certain members of your crew must face now is the fact that it is now quite clear who's colours are pinned to which masts.

Now those who would harm you have less detective work to carry out.

This is why firstly it's taken so long to discover it and secondly why we can only test one person per night."

The man says to the wolf-like creature in the form of a speech bubble 'The only way to be sure you aren't a werewolf is to shoot yourself in the head with a non-silver bullet and to then set yourself on fire.' The werewolf strokes its long chin and says 'Excellent test! After you...'.

*Nisgeis, still not feeling sufficiently vented, reaches for a second sheet and starts drawing again.*

The first cell shows a flock of sheep, with one sheep that looks suspiciously large. Its white fleece does not sit well and there is a definate grey colour showing as though it was wearing a bad wig. The legs do not match the rest of the sheep. The snout and eyes look decidedly lupine. The rest of the sheep are facing this larger sheep, with blank expressions. This wolf-sheep is drawn with a speech bubble saying 'DON'T BE SHEEP! DO EXACTLY WHAT I SAY!'

The second cell shows the normal looking sheep collectively bleating 'Bah-bah-bahrilliant idea!' in unison.

The third cell shows the wolf-sheep grinning evilly and saying 'Good Sheep, Goooood Sheep.'. The name tag sewn into the false fleece reads 'Wolfbuna'.

*Nisgeis checks no one is watching and posts the cartoons up in the bar and hurries away*.

Jimbuna
05-28-09, 04:51 PM
*Jimbuna returns from the cabin used by Raptor1 and thinks to himself 'It would appear things have quietened down, both camps look like they are realligning themselves.....tomorrow should be of real interst, they now should appreciate the gift of being able to express themselves.....or do they?'....Jimbunas final thoughts before addressing the survivors is.....DON'T ANYONE JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS BECAUSE YOU DON'T REALISE HOW POWERFUL EACH CAMP IS....YOUR NOT EVEN AWARE OF WHO IS TALKING TO WHO*

Hmm, well now I'm a bit confused, as there was no attack last night and Raptor was in the brig. :hmmm:

I thought you were a monster, because, shortly after it was revealed that there was an organised investigation and they had detected a monster, you started encouraging people to vote randomly to lynch people. This would be a good way to cause confusion and disrupt the organised investigation.

You also said that it was pointless to just put people in the brig and we should be lynching people, but the first person that is voted for, you put in the brig and do not lynch. I thought that this was to try to put suspicion on Raptor, as long as he was alive, then you could claim he was a monster, rather than lynching as you said you would.

Third reason to suspect you was that you were taking very large drinks of bug juice at regular intervals, when we alread knew that Silverraptor was a monster and he had also been drinking the bug juice. I thought this was a way for you to hide your monsterness. We know you have a good attention to detail and this is surely something you would have noticed. You still maintain that the bug juice test is valid, when it is not.

Fourth reason, you mentioned about military ships and how they are run, compared yourself to Nelson, but then mutinied, more Fletcher Christian than Nelson I think.

However, I've been advised that you may not be a monster, so I'm a bit confused now.

I vote Jalu3 for lynching.
Undersea for Leader.

I thought you were a monster, because, shortly after it was revealed that there was an organised investigation and they had detected a monster, you started encouraging people to vote randomly to lynch people. This would be a good way to cause confusion and disrupt the organised investigation.

I have never and will never encourage people to vote 'randomly' or 'indiscriminatingly', but I will encourage them to act on their instincts and suspicions.

It is pointless doing nothing, that way you give the monster/s a distinct advantage....like a flock of ship locked in a pen waiting to be picked off one by one.

What is more confusing than everyone trying to bring an end to their plight yet totally paralyzed by a state of inertia?

DOING NOTHING IS NO LONGER AN OPTION

You also said that it was pointless to just put people in the brig and we should be lynching people, but the first person that is voted for, you put in the brig and do not lynch. I thought that this was to try to put suspicion on Raptor, as long as he was alive, then you could claim he was a monster, rather than lynching as you said you would.

As I have made clear previously, my intention was to remove what was in my opinion the main obstacle to progress.

I am not decided on what I believe Raptor1 to be so what better alternative than to put him in the brig....narrows the field of suspects by two and will hopefully encourage people to decide for themselves.

I DID HAVE THE OPTION TO HAVE HIM KILLED, BUT CAN'T CONDONE INDISCRIMINATE SLAUGHTER

I honestly wasn't totally convinced of Silverraptors position for a while and the bug juice test I went along with because I actually believed it was a realistic part of the storyline and as such was accepted by all of us.

What of the new blood tests?

I await outcomes and will fit in with the storyline there as well.

Fourth reason, you mentioned about military ships and how they are run, compared yourself to Nelson, but then mutinied, more Fletcher Christian than Nelson I think.

I find it rather humorous that you introduce the word 'mutiny' and in so doing also sully the name of one of the greatest seafarers of all time.

The only comparison I used was a one of national identity.

I am not a crew member of the Thanatus but rather the rescue sub and beside, under existing military articles an individual can challenge the authority and competence of the leader if they consider the actions or inaction of said leader to be tantamount to endangering the lives and or craft under their control.

Was this not the case here?

If I am to agree with your use of the word 'mutiny'....was Fletcher Christian not justified in his actions?

Many would say he was.

I see you challenge my position as leader at the earliest opportunity.

Duly noted.

*Fed up with how the boat seems to turned in to a hive of machiavellian plotting, he heads to his bunk and pulls the covers over his head*

"Wonder if it's true - do the monsters go away if you can't see them?"

((Off out, hope to be back before 00:00, but may not be))

Jimbuna
05-29-09, 02:16 PM
*Jimbuna is sitting at the bar looking at Oberon at the other end of the room pacing up and down whilst gibbering like an idiot*

*He thinks to himself "So Jalu was human after all. It can only be one of two ways now....either one or both of those in the brig is a monster, hence the lack of killings, or there are still one or more roaming free but daring not kill anyone for fear of drawing attention to themselves and wanting to fool us the monsters are in the brig"*

*A plan starts formulating in Jimbunas head....."Wheres that bloody convict with the test results?"*

UnderseaLcpl
05-29-09, 02:29 PM
*walks in and sits down near Jimbuna*

"You look awfully perturbed, Jim. Something I should know about?"

*walks in and sits down near Jimbuna*

"You look awfully perturbed, Jim. Something I should know about?"

"I'm looking at what is left of us yet when weighing up the imponderables the choices are beginning to look clearer whilst at the same time I'm disturbed at the feeling of frustration.....it's like not being able to see the wood for the trees"

"The crew first....2 are in the brig, they could both be human, monster or one of each. The killings have stopped yet that could mean absolutely nothing. Those in the brig can be discounted for now, either that or I give the order for their execution and find out for sure.

What would be the point of jeapordising two lives when they are no risk to anyone whilst incarcerated....it's not as if one will turn on the other and give their true identity away.

Sandy Caesar has gone AWOL....that discounts him.

Tarrasque has a name that troubles/disturbs me.

Nisgeis has shown open defiance of me but qualifies it with reasoning...I like men like that but remain wary of them at the same time.

Next, the Science Crew....2 of you 4 are already dead and no sign of a monster yet. Just you and the con remain yet in the main we appear to have shared our concerns as proven by the voting pattern, at least from day 3 onwards.

Next, the Rescue crew...3 are dead and one was proven to be a monster. Nokia has shown unstinting loyalty and support of me and Oberon has been reduced to a gibbering wreck.

If my senses aren't fooling me and I am to believe you and the con are human, there must still be a monster within the ranks of the crew or the rescue sub.

Find it and the rest should be plain sailing. Those in the brig are currently neutralised"

UnderseaLcpl
05-29-09, 04:37 PM
*Takes a draught from his flask and looks at in disgust as he realizes it is empty now.*

Well, I can tell you that you don't need to worry about Tarrasque, if that puts your mind at ease. We're all over him.

I have to rest now, though. Goodnight, Jim.

*and with that, Undersealcpl shuffles off to his bunk*

Oberon
05-29-09, 05:41 PM
*Oberon squints at the rest of the crew*

"He's out there...we hear him, don't we? He calls to us...he calls to us and we listen...those who speak without words speak the loudest. He will come to us...and we will see the beast within."

*He holds the knife uneasily.*

Day 8
Lights On
In the night everyone heard propellers above quite clearly.

SandyCaesar went out into remote parts of the sub to see if he could hear
them any better. he did not turn up for roll call after the lights went back on
and everyone feared the worst. His mangled corpse was found in the sonar
room. Parts of it look like they have been eaten.

Another lynch vote is called.

UnderseaLcpl
05-30-09, 03:44 AM
Investigation vote is for Tarrasque, Brig time.

Leadership Vote: Jimbuna

Jimbuna
05-30-09, 05:34 AM
Oberon has been acting very strangely to say the least and locking himself in the rescue sub could have a hidden meaning or bluff.

I vote for Oberon.

I vote for myself to continue as leader.

Tarrasque
05-30-09, 05:47 AM
"As the senior military rate not brigged I vote for Nisgeis as Leader"

"Lynch vote is for Jimbuna, albeit I would rather see him brigged and face a court on return to land"

TarJak
05-30-09, 05:48 AM
Vote for brig time for Oberon.

Leadership vote for Jimbuna

*TarJak stretches and wakes to the sound of muttering and general weird behaviour by Oberon.*

"Jim I think he is in need of isolation and disarming him of that knife. Any chance we can stick him in the brig?"

*Goes back over to his laptop to check on the results of last nights testing.*

"Looks like we have another human!"

*Begins working on setting up the next sample for testing.*

"BTW anyone who didn't voluntarily give a sample has now been taken whilst you were asleep. Sorry about the invasion of privacy gents but under the circumstances I think it was justified."

Nisgeis
05-30-09, 06:03 AM
Oberon's behaviour has become increasing erattic. I say we put him in the brig, shackled so he can't harm the others in there.

Lynch vote for Oberon
Jimbuna for leader

Thanks for your vote Tarrasque.

Nokia
05-30-09, 06:55 AM
*Wakes up after a long nights sleep and reaches for his thermos*

"Damn, what time is it??

*Hears that SandyCaesar is dead.*

"Bloody he** we are running out of people. I guess now we know at least one sitting in the brig is most likely human. I wonder what TarJak has found out... Well maybe well have better luck getting the rescue sub to work today....but somehow I don't think that will be the case"

*Goes to the bar to get something to eat*

***Lynch vote: Oberon. and Jim to continue as leader.***

Oberon
05-30-09, 07:53 AM
"The beast, he walks and talks amongst us...he speaks loud and carries a big stick. The sheep, the sheep shall be lead by the wolf. The wolf barks at them to walk into its mouth and the sheep continue on their merry way...We see you, we see you and we hear your bark Jim."

*Oberon stabs a piece of fish on his plate with his knife and then eats it.*

"Lynch vote for Jimbuna, leadership vote for Undersealcpl."

Night 8
Lights Off

On, Off, On Off the light cycle continues.
Oberon waits patiently in the rescue sub for the lynch mob that he knows will
come for him. Indeed, they do. Nokia, Nisgeis, Tarjak and Jimbuna enter the
rescue sub. After a brief struggle the executioners do their work and another
body is piled upon the heap that is already spreading a foul stench throughout
the sub.
Jimbuna did not signal to send him to the brig.

UnderseaLcpl
05-30-09, 02:59 PM
*Pacing angrily, casting occassional glances at the handful of survivors. Finally, he speaks*

Would someone like to explain to me why there is a dead Oberon on this vessel? Anyone? I mean, there shouldn't be one, but there is. Anyone want to shed some light on that subject? I really need help understanding WHY PEOPLE INSIST ON MUCKING UP EVERYTHING!!!!!
*sighs, regains composure, and continues*
Now, I can understand why some of you voted as you did. There were a few communications mix-ups, and things got out of hand. No problem.
What I do have a problem with is the spontaneous decision to kill a crewman that no one was told to kill.
There seems to be a misunderstanding here, so I will attempt to clarify it right now. When the investigation fell on Silveraptor, there was a good reason for it. When we voted to lynch JALU3, there was also a good reason for it. And when we say "put Tarrasque in the brig", there is a good reason for it. Some of you seem to be under the impression that our decisions are open to interpretation. They are not. When I come forward as the public face of the investigation, and cast the first vote, to put Tarrasque in the brig, IT DOES NOT MEAN KILL OBERON!!!!! WHEN WE SAY ABSTAIN, IT DOES NOT MEAN LYNCH WHOEVER YOU FEEL LIKE LYNCHING!!!!
*places two fingers at his temple*
I have had it up to here with all the nonsensical crap that goes on on this boat! I swear to God if it isn't cockamamie seawater tests it's worthless hearsay or deceptive voting or some other assorted garbage! We have wasted more than enough time and lives because people continue to hinder our efforts.

So here's how we're going to do this from now on. In the morning, I am going to cast my vote, on behalf of what is left of the investigation, and then you are all going to vote the same way, unless you hear otherwise, from me. If I say put them in the brig, Jimbuna is going to put them,*gasp*, in the brig!
If I die tonight, Tarjak is going to do what I would have done, and you will vote the way he does. If Tarjak dies, the next one in line will step up, and so on and so forth.

Now, for those of you who are not a part of the investigation, I am sorry that you don't get much of a say in the ultimate decisionmaking process.
You can indirectly be a part of it, by contacting me if you find anything suspicious or have any thoughts, but that is pretty much it.
Since you didn't go to the trouble to assemble a proper investigative team that doesn't go around killing people at random, you can help the most by helping the only one that does exsist.

Let's have no more senseless killings, gentlemen. Good night, and good luck.

Day 9
Lights On
In the night clear, sharp hammering is heard on the side of the hull as well as
the propellers above. Two gunshots where also heard from inside the sub
during the night.

Every one turns up for roll call.

TarJak

"WTF was all that noise last night?"

UnderseaLcpl
05-30-09, 06:13 PM

"NO votes! No freaking votes until I vote! Then you copy that vote!"

*upon reaching the bar, he sits down heavily, pours a cup of bug juice and gulps it down. He places his head in his hands and remains motionless for a few moments before he sits up with a start, and sets off to find something suitable to tap against the hull*

I will be busy in the sub all day, so will miss all the morning discussion and voting. Therefore put me down for a double Abstaintion

Nokia

"What was all that hammering and propeller noises last night all about. It's hard enough to get some sleep without the noises."

*Gets coffee and sits down at a table.*

"Well at least we all survived the night. Hopefully we will end this soon."

*Takes out the P8 and two 9mm rounds from his pocket and puts them into the magazine and load it back in the gun.*

"Great thing this pistol, I never go anywhere without it, I got it back in the day when I was in the KSK when I left I got to keep it. And it sure has saved my life many times after that."

*adressing the small group of survivors in the bar area*

It looks like this nightmare may finally be over, gentlemen. However, the last monster is, in all likleyhood, still among us. It's just too bad that Jim shot himself before we could expose the monster and release him from the brig.
By process of elimination, the last monster is Nokia, without a doubt. Let's expose the beast for what he is and get off this blasted boat.

Lynch vote: Nokia
Leader vote: Nisgeis

Nokia
05-31-09, 11:59 PM
"Oh I see what is going on Undersea. So you were not absolutley sure about the monster like you said. And if you go accusing innocent people and think that you are absolutely sure, maybe with proof from someone else then maybe you have been fooled or maybe the monster really is you. And if it really is true that you are not a monster and merely go on with the accusations thinking "I don't believe the others are so he must be" then maybe you should have a go at those in the brig. In my perspective it appears that "the investigation" is trying to make us lynch each other. And as a interesting side note the investigation informed me that they have the seer but if they have then why would they vote for me? And they also were sure it was either Nisgeis or Jimbuna. And if you vote the same as the investigation and you vote me to get lynched you will be killing the last one that is able to protect you against these monsters and thus sealing your own fate."

**Lynch Undersea. leader: Nisgeis.***
