Googlemaps is great to search, zoom, and explore, but when you go to print, they cut the map down to half size, and half the page is blank. Waste!
Urg, anyone have any alternative? Mapquest appears similarly useless :dead:

Why don't you use greaseproof paper, lay it on top of the screen and copy the map with a pencil? :O:
Have you tried Print Screen->Paint->save an then printing it? No farking idea if it works, just yabbering. :shucks:

I did my maps via google earth. Well you need to put a little work into screenshots edit before applying picture to MS Word for printing but it can be done without too much efforts..
I already prepared my route maps in Kiel :)

Works fine, I have done that alot myself :) Only way I was able to get a full screen map picture myself from Google Maps.

He'll probably get a big piece of paper and some Crayola crayons and make his own map. :har:

Oh boy, somewhere I've given you the wrong impression about my means! :haha:
Sigh, I guess I will have to break down and buy some kind of map book for the US.

I use a MUCH older version of a Tom Tom and get by just fine when I need to use it. I've tried Garmin and prefer the Tom Toms.

I suppose you'd have to pull over on a bike for a map anywho. :)

Yeah, that's a little better, price wise. But it needs to be waterproof :)

Have you tried Rand McNally? You can print the turn-by-turn directions with maps for each step.
