So I just learned about the Silent Hunter series and went and picked up SH4. Within a day or two I installed the Trigger Maru Overhaul (with training wheels) and have been really enjoying this game.
Initially I played the training missions over and over, and I was constantly using external view to get my ship to point in the right direction.
Now with this mod, I haven't really been able to effectively use the camera as it seems the external view button (f11) by default has been changed to the deck gun. The only way I can get an external free cam is to goto the bridge and hit f12. On the plus side of things, this has taught me how to use the maps to plot my courses and use the compass properly.
When I do this, the camera movement is so insanely slow. It would probably take at least 60 seconds to go from the bow of the boat to the stern. This is with shift held down by the way.
Before I installed this mod, I could go freecam and cover 100x the distance with free camera + shift held down.
Are there any fixes for this? Seems like an easy variable change in some config file to increase camera acceleration/movement.
If anyone has any information on this, I would be very much obliged.
By the way, I love this game. Coming from playing eve-online for the passed few years, its nice to be underwater for a change instead of in space.
