Good grief, I come home from work, and what do I hear on the news?

what could cause such a calamity?

... the killer volcano?
...nuclear war?
... obama?

..it's worse:shifty:

Bret Farve is becoming a football slut!

I'm telling, that guy is an ego-maniac. It's ok for an older player to want to keep playing, but to put everyone through the drama of the Last Game and retiring, then to come back year after year. What a dope, he had a legendary status, now he's turning into a joke...:O:

...speaking of sluts:shifty:, i don't see why the vikes would even talk to him. Why do they always go after the FORMER, big-name QBs, 15 years after their prime? They'll play one year, then they are back in the same rut again.:shifty:

It makes no sense to me either but from Farves point of view, someone is willing to pay him to play in the NFL. That's all the incentive that i'd need...

Next we'll hear that John Madden will also be coming out of retirement, just to he can keep referencing Favre :haha:

I guarantee you that is the only reason he wants to play in Minnesota - a chance to make Thompson look like an idiot for letting him go. It's the only thing that makes any sense, as Favre's never been particularly good in a dome.

If somebody had told me a few years ago that Favre would become the most hated person in Wisconsin, I'd have laughed them out of the room. This took some serious effort on Brett's part.

If he signs with the Vikings, the Packers should issue #4 this season.

But is Vick on the horizon :o

I'm grudgingly going to admit that Vick should be allowed to play. I can't forgive him on a personal level, and I truly hope the Patriots don't sign him, but he's served his debt to society. He did his time, and that's the prescribed punishment. Taking away his livelihood would be excessive I think.

I don't have a problem with him playing ( I was more giving mcbee here a hard time :yep: ) , but if he does go anywhere, it will be interesting to see how " his baggage " is handled. It will be a distraction.

I seriously doubt it will be to the Patriots. The Krafts don't have much tolerance for criminals in their organization.

Another name floated has been the Panthers. Anyone thinking that needs to recall that the Richardson family is VERY strict on its players now - after the Rae Caruth issue, they are all about high character guys. Vick will have a hard time finding a team that is willing to take him on - they would have to be beyond desperate - or give him a backup slot and pray they don't have an injury. If someone signs him - it will be for cheap. And for those that think Vick as a RB - he doesn't have the build to take the punishment - so he would not last.

Edit - Also you have to hand it to Goodell - he really pinched Vick on this one. He said he could report to training camp, play in the preseason games - but then he is done until after week 6 when he can apply for full reinstatement - meaning a team would have to be willing to start someone else at QB for 6 games - then change mid stream. Won't happen. However - it WILL give him a chance to sit on the sidelines as a backup for a year - letting the "drama" die out and give him a shot at redemption without the same circus the following year. Many see that reinstatement path as keeping Vick from playing - what it really does is test him - to see if he has matured and humbled himself - and if so - gives him the opportunity to find a path back.

I refuse to refer to him by his name anymore. I'm taking the Tecmo Bowl approach to players they couldn't name: He's now "QB Vikings"

It should be the end for much of their front office and Childress :yep:I'm a Packers fan (still respect Brett Favre's legacy), but I'm laughing my ass off. :har:

How any time could think that a 40 year-old QB is the missing link to the Superbowl is insane. And Bernard Berrian and Bobby Wade aren't suddenly going to become elites now.
