ok, u SH4 guys r probably tired of me asking these questions of computers and SH4, but i have to return this IBM T42 loaner by Mid may (cannot play SH4), and I'am finally getting a new laptop by the end of this month.
The laptop i am looking at is a Asus, model number X83Vb-X2
anyways i know the link would help better http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9172851&type=product&id=1218044029604
spects- dual core 2.0 GHZ, 512 MBnvidia Geforce 9300 GS, 4 Gigs of ram
just wanna know if this computer would very much handle SH4 or not, thanks.

You should be able to.
I have:
AMD Althlon Dual Core QL-60 1.90Ghz
2.0 gigs of ram
Gforce 8200M
I'm not sure how big the video memory is, but it's not big. I run SH4 just fine. I have it on low quality settings and still looks good.

Should be more than enough. I have a little less specs on my laptop, with an nvidia 8600 and 3 gigs of ram and I run the the game with video options maxed out. It runs just fine.

Soundman, there's a world of difference between an x300 series and an x600 series, even between generations of nVidia chips. Your system is twice as fast as his. I'd say he's strictly at the limits of playability and his computer could go either way, able or not able to play SH4. If he had a 9600 I'd say he had a 100% chance.
well i haven't bought it yet, it's just hte one im looking at...i guess overall all is a 9300 GS a good or not so good of a video card...im assuming from the reviews on the website, that it's good, but can't totally rely on that, thats why i am asking here

its been my understanding you can have a good card a good mobo and a good cpu but that doesnt mean they work good when matched together.
sounds strange i know, but some parts work better in some situations then others so if you want a certain board you must get the ram that works best for THAT bord and not just the best ram out there.
a great video card may work better in one brand board then the next so look for the best MATCHED components and not just the best individual parts
that said, anything you put together will work well but i assume you want the best bang out of it so research what works best TOGETHER
