According to wikipedia, Yamato's sister ship the Musashi was fitted with depth charge rails in a 1944 refit:

On 3 April, Musashi arrived at Kure for repairs. From 10–22 April 1944, Musashi underwent repairs and upgrades, receiving new radar, depth-charge rails, and increased antiaircraft capabilities.Somehow I just can't see a massive 70,000 ton battleship doing a DC run although I must admit it would be an awesome sight to behold. :ping: Apparently, she had hydrophones too. However, I can't find any evidence she ever used them or even had depth charges aboard.
