Missing Ethernet driver for AMD Athlon 5200+

Written on my sister's computer:
Hi folks, I have recently done some research about drivers.
I dont have the restore CD when I bought my PC. I had no choice to reboot my new computer
using my sister's Window XP copy.
Some of the issues have been fixed by downloading drivers for graphic and sounds.
However, the missing driver ,which I am looking for, is the one that allows you to
connect on the internet.
At first, I went googling and downloaded "Driver Robot" . The software need to connect
through the internet in order to upgrade my driver .....

Because there is nothing about network driver except the 1394 which is already install.(
Note that the 1394 is not the one allowing me to connect )
Tried to open and looking in the skeleton of my PC.
Wonderful! The ethernet is not a chipset from PCI slot, it is a chipset stucked in the
motherboard.
No clue about the name of the this chipset. Couldn't find a thing on it.
10 Days left Before I have to reboot and keep having the same problems.
I need help!

You will need to get the motherboard manufacturers name (Asus, Gigabyte etc) and the model number printed on the motherboard, go to the manufacturers site & do a search for the motherboard model, this should lead you to all the drivers including the Lan.:yep:

As in broken? It's possible, but I've never seen just the LAN-chip die. :hmmm:

Still, I'd give the driver a try first. If it doesn't work, try an add-in card. But that requires a driver too. :D

New card should have a disc for driver was my second thought. There is always a first for everything. After my last computer shutting down constantly for not reason experience I leave nothing unturned. Weeks of trying this and that. New drivers, etc. My computer would just say, 'Windows is shutting down". As a last straw, I replaced the stupid on/off button on the case:88). That was the cause...a stupid .99 cent on/off button.:doh: I went and got a new case with on/off button. No problems since:D

Yeah, these things will throw you a curve ball every now and again. Considering the complexity, the last thing you'll look at is the power button. :doh:

Sorry for late reply, I have limit use of this notebook :yep:
I gave a look on the HP website ( because my pc is an HP model)
I did a search and found a driver for LAN. I downloaded it, but it seems the software isnt working.


Then, I decided to strip my ethernet card from my old pc. Now the problem is I lost the CD for this hardware. As usual, search is your friend.
Tried to look for my products at driverguide.com and then I didnt find the manufacturer for my products.
Tried googling and the results arent what i am looking for.

I think the GTS FC-518LS ethernet card is no more in stock. I think they dont upload a driver for this model anymore.
