Hi all, I am not new to these forums but it's been a while.. :salute:

I am going to post few ideas for the Moderators / Developers to consider
(feel free to share your own) or your comments.

This goes out to the X-Ubisoft DevelopementTeam or to the GWX
Developement community.

1) I for one would like to see a Uber Expansion for silent hunter in a all its glory!!

such as an (AIOCC) -All In One Combined Campaign for the sh4 game engine.
that's right "I said it" An Uber everything goes Global WWII (world @ war campaign).

so not just sh3 - Atlantic campaign German -vs- Allied "or" sh4 - pacific campaign American -vs- japan.. but an entire vast globe of gameplay.

so depending where you are in relation to sailing the map
---> and what country you chose to enlist into <---

The choice being up to the player when setting up a tour of duty which ofcourse then deturmines the selected choice of ports & flotillas you can choose to sail out of The general countrys to keep it simple:
Germany, Italy, England, U.S.A, Russia, Japan

In the start of the game you can choose from these basic countrys
then choose your ship, manage your crew etc..etc.. so for example: if im sailing under the american flag and I choose to sail to the atlantic near lurking german waters I would expect to run into some german activity!

not just an vast emptiness mistake for sailing that far :( lol

If anything at all I hope some1 decides to come along and make a GWX
style total conversion super mod for sh4 and add the atlantic campaign
from sh3 into sh4 *somehow*

2) why cant players freely walk around on the decks of the 3d sub mesh
or compartments yet? like fps games!! to enhance the whole overall feel of
being apart of a sub crew, & navy experience.. not just instantly moving
to various stations.. this will slow down time it takes when the alarm is raised
and actions to take measure to during game play.

Also I can see in by doing so how neat it would be am I right?

3) Add some "in mission" sub missions features such as for example:
gain some renown & medals by saving some other misfortunate allied crew
members that was sunk nearby but not before calling for SOS help over
radio waves you picked up threw reading your radio messages..

so you are given the coordinates as a X last position triangulated positional
marking on the map so if you choose to sail over there and come across a
stranded milk ship or what have you.. maybe even some sailers floating about (you get the idea).. you gain some added renown or medals for heroism when you next return to port. :D


4) online or lan:

To get your own ship you should have to Qulify by moving your way up the ladder in rankings.. so enlist as a watchmen or gunner & move up the ranks!
AI bots can always fill the spot in places where humans are replaced &
vise versa.when you do become a u-boat or sub captain the option to recruit other players onto your own ship as a gunner or watchcrew is now your choice.so remove the auto bot "SHIP SPOTTED!" sensors for a change or by choice or atleast make the AI's stupid.. so that the ai has less chance to see
a nearby ship then human in range of distance. so if you dont enlist a few good watchmen rather be it AI bot or players either way you run less risk of being spotted before you spot them if you have some real players taking
over the job of watchmen.

5) I dont see why limits are set as far as this just being a sub sim
what about adding air war pilot missions?

maybe some day IL2 Sturmovik & sh4 & Steel Beasts will merge? :P
ok that last one was just a joking thought.

lastly this goes out directly to just the silent hunter moderator community.

whether you guys are simply a moderator/developer/programmer enthusiest
I have seen many of the creative work you have all done.

my props go out to the developers of GWX, sh3gen, JGME, SH3Weather,
WolfiesTweekPak, multish3, Silent 3ditor, Pack3D, SH3 Commander, spy satellite.

you should all organize, communicate, and work together to enhance
this excellent game into something greater then what it already is expanding
silent hunter into something worthy of its possabilitys.

too many little fiddle tools I love dont play well with eachother
because many edit the same .cfg files... bah! :)

I still want some kind of Destroyer Command combined into SH5.

The online possibilities alone are limitles.

Some nice suggestions there, but I'd avoid FPS comparisons. ;)



Oh, and a 3d modeled, fully interactive icecream-maker. Gotta have that. :yep:

I like the idea of having all the sub equiped navies though that might make a very demanding game for most PCs because it would be so large. Not sure what you mean by the move round part there is a mod that lets you do this out there already and TMO and RFB both have it with them and though it would be neat to see the other parts of the sub there is very little for the skipper do there but look around. Not so sure if your MMORP is such a great idea I can see that getting very boring think of being the guy on watch for hours and hours real time no thanks. And then the whole issue of others obeying what the skipper says to do not so sure about that idea. And I like to keep it Navy or Air Force i mean let it be all ships or all planes the issues in making a combined IL2/Silent Hunter I think that would make all but the very best PCs explode.

Real Co stuff like drilling the crew and having expanded interiors of the sub. The ability to write patrol logs rather than a scripted deal we have now. The ability to hunt with other subs in a wolf pack and communicate with them. That would be a blast to fill in the boring times.:salute:

A few things I think would be interesting (just things I'd like to see improved over SH4):

1. ASW DDs getting smarter as the game progresses

2. Magnetic detector equipped planes that fly low and help the DDs pick you up, or just better built aircraft AI and a better aircraft and carrier system in general (which would in turn open up the way for mods that allow you to play as a carrier!)

3. In-game wolf packs (ie. single player mode where you can command or take commands from other subs, and coordinate strikes on convoys)

4. Sub tenders!

5. Being able to radio for help and/or abandoning ship

6. More complicated damage and parts breakdown system (ie. electrical fires that disable parts of your ship until you fix it, shipping water if you have the hatch open while on the surface during choppy seas, etc. etc.)

7. Generally better revised ranges; historically, you could see ships out to about 15,000 yards on a good day, in SH4 your lookouts pick up stuff at shorter ranges

8. (Maybe) a sort of plot that lets you interact with characters?

9. Potential friendly fire incidents if you don't follow protocol near base, or happen to approach a friendly task force the wrong way (ie. Seawolf)
