Details of Loss
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of KptLt. Quirin Quast and U-212 on their 8th patrol. U-212 was returning badly damaged from a patrol at the north end of the North Channel, having reported the sinking of 7 ships for a total of 13,833 tons. U-212 was attacked and sunk by four Liberator Aircraft west of the Faeroes on 27 May 1944.
