Hi, I have a strange problem, browsed the forum but didn't come across any similar issues....I cannot see either my sub, nor any other ships...they are simply invisible...sometimes ( on bridge ) these black and coloured flashing "things" appear, sometimes the whole screen goes black...otherwise no problem at all, reasonable fps, everything's fine...what could be the problem? The ships' textures? I have SH3 with GWX3, there are no such problems ( except lower fps when on bridge). Please, does anybody have any idea what this means? Thanks a lot in advance, and good hunting...

Do you have problems with more games? If the answer is Yes, your graphics card is fried:doh: Or you have to reinstall the drivers.

Yea sounds like a video card issue.

Either its simply not up to the task or something is screwy.

Make sure your drivers are up to date, check to see that the card is properly seated in its slot.

If its an "on board" video processor god help you ;)

Hello, thx for the reply...I have an onboard card, however, I find it strange, that SH4 loads faster than SH3, the fps is ok, just the ships are invisible only from the outside...inside all is cool...maybe there is sg. wrong with the file? It's strange....I assume, if the card was to blame , the sea , the water would have caused a crash , given its' texture complexity...i installed 3danalyze, hoping to solve this, but i haven't yet figured out how it works...

Okay, I'm not good at these pc-graphic stuff, You're probably right, it's just so annoying that everything works, just the subs are gone....:damn:

thats your problem then, onborad cards might show images on the screen but they cant handle games properly.

maybe the reason sh4 is loading faster is because its not loading everything?

get yourself a nice medium to high end grafics card ($100-$150) and you will find you see lots of things that you never saw on the screen before.

my dad had onboard and when i bought him a card he found the screen full of things that onboard card couldnt put on the screen because it wasnt capable of generating all the grafics.

i suggest you go here: http://forums.techpowerup.com/index.php

its a great site where they will help you select the right grafics card for your setup and the games you play and you will be able to learn all sorts of things about computers.

Well, it seems the textures of the ships and the land are of the same "type", i just navigated near a bunch of floating trees:haha::wah:...
Thx for the advice, however, I have a laptop, so, I guess only a new pc will solve my problem:)...anyway, 1000 thx for the help and info...(Man, I envy You guys:up:

you could try "nhancer" its aprogram to customize your grafics and maybe it will get you to where you can run sh4 well.

find it here: http://www.nhancer.com/?dat=downloads

nHancer will only work with nVidia graphics chips/cards. Most likely his laptop does not have an nVidia graphics card, but rather an Intel onboard graphics chip or similiar. If he does indeed have an nVidia GeForce video card in that laptop, then nHancer will not fix his problem, but rather it is more likely a video driver issue.

Not to dismiss nHancer, as it is a great utility (I've been using it for a few years now) but the same tweaks that can be made in nHancer can also be made via the default nVidia control panel that is installed whenever an nVidia graphics driver is installed or updated. I prefer using nHancer because the interface for the tweaks is more user friendly in nHancer than it is in the default nVidia control panel.

Thanks for the new ideas, ok, I have an Intel chip with p4 dual core processor, so....Could this enhancer work? (btw, I feel ashamed, because last night was the first time I watched Das Boot-ended at 4:30am:DL- and I must say, I'm speachless...amazing epic...now I think of this game from a totally new perspective...it's hard to consider this only a game, it's almost a tribute to those guys....amazing movie, great game...glad I came across it
