Hello,
Glad to be on Subsim, greetings to one and all.
I am wondering about U-boat skins which I see for download. I am early in the war and sailing a VIIB U-boat. However most of the skins I see for download seem to be for the VIIC type boat.
I was wondering do the VIIC skins work with the VIIB U-boat?
Thanks for any help or advice.

Thanks for the welcome Sharkley. No problem I have downloaded a couple of the VIIb skins but just wondered if the VIIC's would also work.
I am just wondering if there is any particular reason (ie speed issues) why you don't use skins. Some of them are truly amazing work.

Some skins do work with both TypeVII boats,STEED's skins do,others don't and are specific to the B and C class,Wolfhunter and Yamato do some very good skins for the TypeVIIB,they are available here, http://www.bts-mods.com/?page=files There are loads of skins there, and loads of great mods to take a look at,brilliant site :03::yeah: Welcome aboard!

I don't use external camera's
So I never see the outside of my Boat.
I am working on boosting my realism settings to get the full effect out of SH3, mind you it makes for some boring screenshots..:haha:

Hey thanks a million for this info. I initially missed your post lol! Will take me a while to get to grips with making posts etc.
Heck I am having fun with SH3. I just got attacked by a Swordfish, hit me just as I was going under. I think I got the flooding controlled by the skin of my teeth.:o

VIIC skins work on the VIIB, however, there are some issues with skins not quite aligning properly. That's up to your discretion if you want to use them or not with that flaw though.

How do we activate the skins in game?
Do they apply automatically?

Unpack the file into your MODS folder then activate it via JSGME.
