Okay, this is going to be rough but for good purposes.

This is going to be my little non-officiall manual for new in the game people.
I will not give you a warm welcome with tea and cookies here as everyone else does but I will try to raise the respect for this game and realism based supermods like GWX to such level you would not want to screw this art of simulation.

Because there is no writen rules on how to handle tha game properly I will create mine and make it public all over this forum.

Recently I got really annoyed watching some people (Noobs) asking for making them unreal mods or asking questions on how to tweak a game just to please their funny needs. So here are the RULES!

1. Simulation is not arcade style game. (check wikipedia for simulation meaning if you still don't get it) Probably the most important rule.

2. If any simulation is based on historicall facts you SHOULD NOT ask somewone to create you a contradictory to those facts mod. (it's going to feel weird/I will not understand you)

3. Progress with difficulty settings. Always struggle for the best results while on patrols but don't forget to push yourself forward and learn new things constantly raising realism to 100% (This simulation will still be going easy on you since it has no hardcore navigation option, but there are already mods for that matter.)

4. If you just want to let your steam go. Do it on SH3 single missions, play COD5 on multiplayer, visit the gym or whatever you like. But DON"T mess with SH3 core files to please your sick fantasies. (If you do so you will show dissrespect for the game no matter that you bought it or just downloaded it. Same way you will brake my rule and conviction of proper gaming and I will be haunting you till your last day for doing so) :arrgh!:

5. Sink them all or die like the rest.

Now it's up to everyone of you noobs. Learn the game its hard way and feel the Nirvana.

Hope you enjoyed reading it as I enjoyed creating it. :DL

Fact is it's a game and people can try to do what they want with it.

Now...

I can understand where he is coming from, however the presentation leaves a bad taste in the mouth for some folks... especially if new to the forum.

personally, i see that it is more or less for humor, but in the end, it is a game and the gaming world is filled with "run and gun" types.

believe it or not there are players out there who have no real interest in learning anything about the u-boat war, or re-creating the life at sea, or immersing themselves in the realism as much as possible.

in fact - there are a hand full of players out there who purchased SH3 because they just wanted to blow something up and couldn't afford the explosives.

compare these sorts of players to the 3 year old little brother who sits in front of the TV pressing random buttons while "playing" Call of Duty World At War on the XBOX 360.

even though there isnt much being accomplished, and even though they really dont know all about what they are doing - or care for that matter -its cute and they are having fun... so just let them be. :O:

Patronising attitudes aren't too hot either.

This is why scalable realism settings were invented.

All in good fun.

but i do find the original post to be a bit overbearing against "noobs"

"Patronising" and "overbearing to newcomers" is accurate, and in my opinion the only intention of this thread is to stir up more trouble. It becomes clear when you consider this "guide" was posted in responseto these two threads:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=150187

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=150225

It's quite sad that a guide that has the potential to be really helpful ends up so useless because so little thought goes into the delivery of the message

Just ignore contact. He likes to here himself bluster. Just play the game your way. For all his rants, he can't control how you play. I usually play 100%DID but am going to play 60% with super fast subs for a bit because nobody can stop me from doing it. MUAHAHAHHAHAHA. :arrgh!:

In life there will always be people that can't or don't want to be happy.
My friends dad passed away yesterday. Just try to keep some perspective.

@Contact. You stated your opinion about 6 times in another thread. Thats all it is your opinion and nothing more. Enough is enough already.

Between this, and the post requesting information on "cracked software" our dear "Contact" has been on a real mission today :nope:

Closed & enough of this.

Let folk's play the game the way they want. If you don't like it then ignore the thread or post. It's a simple concept.

We were all " new " members here once :yep:, let's be more welcoming please.
