Is there any way to adjust the planes? I can't adjust the dive planes to the number of degrees that I want to set the dive planes to. For example, I want to set the dive planes to 45 degrees, but I can't due to the fact that it's not there in the game's interface or dials. It would be nice to be able to control the dive angle of the submarine, just like real submarine captains or (Herr Kaleuns) did that way I can control my dive and don't sink rapidly or take a deep dive when an enemy destroyer is attacking. It would be sure nice to control the depth when I'm sinking. Is there a way to add a dive planes control in the interface or dial? It would sure be nice. :D :yeah:
My submarine also suffers damage when on the bottom, trying to repair in Silent Hunter IV. I can't recover the submarine.
It also says here that "Separate operators use the dive plane control wheels to adjust the angle of the bow and stern planes."

Apparently, the developers forgot to include this is in the game. :damn: Major pain.

Nope.. You have no control over the dive angles. You only have control of the depth.

That's too bad, I wish I could control the planes. Has anyone tried to add a dial to control the dive angles or modified it? This is a bad handicap.

Real Fleet Boat lets you set your planes for dive and surface, but nothing that I'm aware of that lets you set plane degrees.

I wish I could though. It would be great.
It says here that on a U-boat with these archival photo, that you could control diving angle on a submarine. Photograph 19 to be exact.

Yes the individual planesmen could control the angle of the planes they were stationed at. In Das Boot you can hear the LI giving minute instructions, such as "Bow down ten, stern up five". On the other hand, the captain's actual involvement usually stopped at "Take us down - fast!", or "Periscope depth." He didn't have time to tell each planesmen what to do every moment.
