When times are tough, the true image will emerge:

...This time however, they crossed the line from plausible deniability to flat out deception....

Well then, I'm glad I got the 9800 for the 9800 price and not paid out the nose for the 250 only to get the same thing:D

ATI has done the same thing
actually both companies have done this a couple of times before so should I care about this?
No.
Companies always pull out some marketing tricks too fool the customer, reason why you never must trust their ''first hand reviews''

Subman1, SubSim's very own anti-Nvidia preacher. :har:

I love Nvidia, well, I get the EVGA versions. I do not care for ATI at all.

I don't like either Nvidia or ATI much, they both do sleezy and dishonest crap, manipulate reviewers, and gouge the heck out of the consumer.
I also have a burning hatred for Apple for pretty much the same reasons (particularly price gouging).

Ati does NOT do the same thing.
Their new cards are using a new process and will be more powerful. Theyve decided to advance the tech.

what I ment was that it has done the same thing in the past.
and said above that its isnt something new as both companies has done this multiple times in the past.

Its spreading. Companies are getting fedup with Nvidia. Crap. I have my GTX280 and its crap... But it seems to work sooo good compared to my older Geforce GT7600 :-?
I always check the reviews/benchmarking first before making a decision.:yep:

When? I can't recall a time and I've been using ATI sine that 9800 Pro series.

PS. This just irks me and is what I am referring to above on 'when' has ATI done it? I'd like to see one documented case where ATI stooped this low, or even a fraction of this low:
...This behaviour on Nvidia's part is not only unethical, but it is purposefully dishonest. They are knowingly giving out parts that are not representative of retail pieces, and doing so without telling the reviewers. Readers won't know, sites may or may not know, and in general, it hurts everyone but Nvidia. Unless the word gets out, then hilarity ensues....
They are giving reviewers boards that perform better that the actual product that you buy on the retail shelf! That is just absurd! I know some people like to get slapped in the face and come back for more, and all I have to say to that is - you deserve it.

a while ago,
I remembered an Article about the general picture of both companies (Nvidia and ATI)
I'm not slapping ATI around as you do with Nvidia, fine if you feel like it but dont think that ATI is a saint nor do I think the same about Nvidia.
and like said before twice now...both companies have done it multiple times before
the funniest thing about this is are the customers themself running crazy to upgrade their rigs to latest card paying a sh!tload of money for it.
never understood them, especially when you hear the rant that the cards (both brands) are not performing to their wishes, but without them we wouldnt know what is good and whats not :D
you just have to be carefull what you purchase nowadays in almost every kind of PC part and not run like a baffoon's arse to the shop to get the so called ''latest and best there is out there so far'' things quikly overhype on the internet about the ''latest'' PC products

Seems like both companies are taking cues from Creative. :hmmm:
The only thing creative about them is their marketing. :D
Rebranding old products happens all the time, I'm not even sure this qualifies as news. Still, the word should get out. Hopefully this time it'll actually have some effect on the company in question, but I doubt it.
The fact that they're trying to hide this is kinda sleezy though, but does it really come as a surpise?

well, the united states gvt is getting cleaner, so something has to be corrupted.
I'm a proud ATI user since my X1650 and ive been a very happy person with what I have seen from my cards, as long as they perform well for the price (which I think they have) I'm happy with my product
They must be doing something right
