View Full Version : Can't Play DVD's
This is really annoying me, for some reason I can't play DVD's on my computer, I ran the Starforce & SecuROM removal tools but still won't play, all I get is the following message::wah:

Why it wants to enable copying is beyond me, can't be done with PowerDVD, can it, any ideas welcome.:hmmm:

Nothing to do with Starforce more than likely something to with the software.
Try windows media player. If that does not work you may want to try buying the latest versions of PowerDVD.
Don't use VLC tho. Its DVD playing is crap in my view. Hook that monitor up to an HDMI DVD player and you are all set!

Uninstall & reinstall PowerDVD, that'll fix it.;)
I don't think reinstalling will work, when I try to run a DVD with Media Player it just lists the tracks & tries to play the tracks, but does nothing:

If I exit media player displays I get an application error message.
PowerDVD actually does the same, doesn't just play the DVD but opens a box to select files to add to a list, trying to play from the list just results as in post #1:damn:

Just un-copyprotect it. DVD-Fab HD Decrypter is a good app for that - Free version. I'd probably get in trouble for posting a link, so you are on your own there.

Thanks Subman1, I'll give it a go but don't understand why a player only should be worried about copy protection, sure sounded like an old Starforce thing!:hmmm:
Cheers.
Hi again, well it worked Subman1, but I was getting other problems, Comodo prompts for an app to have access rights, I tick Trusted & remember, but a day or so later prompts for the same app as well as others that had formerly been ticked as remember!!!:hmmm:
Lately I installed a new CPU chip & had done some overclocking tests which resulted in errors on the HDD, sorted out and running ok now but may have corrupted some data so I think I will re-ghost, was avoiding because I hadn't imaged the drive in a while!:-?
