It's Aug. 1942 in an S-boat and I ran into the Japanese task force in Operation Watchtower. The DD's were almost moronic, I came within 1,300 yards...no detection at high speed. I got into the middle 2 two mogami's no sinking and then fired 2 salvos (one missed) the final salvo hit all 3 in a Hiru fleet carriers engine room/ stern. After watching her sit there and finally get under way again I was crushed...no more torpedoes left. Just then she randomly exploded sinking her. A freebie if you ask me..oh well I'll take 16,000 tons! :arrgh!: so I went to 200ft and let the task force pass me by.

There are times when a ship will take sufficient damage to sink later on. All too often we get ansy when we get 3 or 4 direct hits and the target remains afloat. If I notice the target has slowed considerably and the DD's are not on top of me, I will hit a flank bell and a hard rudder depending on the direction of the target and I usually can line up one more stern shot to finish them off. Sometimes a homing torp will be suffiecient to do them in.
