Just wanted to get some feed back as to what level of TC you commonly use in SH3 ??
Do you play all at 1x or do you race in at 1024x ??
Or do you limit yourself ??
Please let me know..
Thanks

I tend to limit myself to x128 unless I'm crossing the Atlantic. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif

I don't go above 128x...It generally take me 1-2weeks R/T to complete a patrol. If I have fatigue set to on I don't like 32 or below because it drains your crews energy too fast.

I go to 1024 if I'm transiting in an area without air coverage. 256 on station and in areas with planes.

No more than TC32 when in an area where enemy planes might be flying. Otherwise will go as high as TC1024 when:
transitting or,
between sound checks in a patrol area where I can run surfaced, or
in a patrol area where I need to stay submerged.
I'm trying to maximise the chance of being sighted while minimizing the chance of finding prey. While this sounds like the opposite of sensible, I'm trying to compensate for the game making it too easy to find merchants.
Since I am beginning to think there might be too many aircraft as well as too many merchant ships, I am considering running at higher TCs than 32 most of the time.
I try to run at TC1024 at multiples of 12 hours as it means my crew fatigue and watch status remain unchanged.

Currently 128x. I used to use full TC, but I read that that would make the air patrols disappear for the most part. So, I listen to the gramaphone and think about things while the map scrolls slowly on.

I use general guidelines. 512 early war when in neutral or friendly water. Once I get to area where enemy ship routes occur, then 128 or 256. Within 150k of coastline 128. Within 300k of high enemy air cover areas (Scapa Flow) 32.
Once I am out of torpedoes, its usually 512 or 1048 back to base, except for the high enemy aircraft areas

When outbound and on station never over TC64.
When heading for home I might go up to TC128.
In the Black Sea I went on TC32, most patrols toke no more then 4-6 days, game time, in there.

Up to 512 if transiting long distances, max 128 in patrol area and mostly 64 or less, any contact 1x from acquiring contact to loss of contact.

When outbound and on patrol, I never go above 32x. Although when I'm out of torps and am returning to base, especially on a long voyage, I'll bump it up to 1024x, as the only thing I do with contacts in that case is hide from them !

Max TC set to 128 in SH3 Commander, but I like to use 8x to 32x TC
256x
the gramaphone
car magazines, books, newspaper.....
Once I get into an area where there may be enemy activity I slow down to 128x or 256x (max) so that I'm less likely to miss any contacts. I remember reading somewhere on these boards that the game generates fewer contacts if you run at higher TC levels in order to compensate for the load on the system.

I am limiting myself x128 or lower at all times
