Ftp confusing ! Help !

Hello,

I need help on the upload front ! I have my FTP access now to upload my mod, but I am cofused on how to access FTP, I have my regular log in and password, and then I have the FTP logon and password, how and where do I logon to FTP to start the upload process, and yes I am new at this so be NICE:O:

For Modmen with 30+MB files, we offer an FTP account to load your files.


Please remember:

Your file must be zipped in a ZIP, RAR, TAR, 7z, or GZ container.
Scan your file for virus before uploading.
All activity is logged, so please act responsibly.
When you log in with your FTP app, you should see the individual folders. In this case, we see steve and ziel folders.
When you have an account, you will see a folder with your name or mod name.

This does not help beginners here:hmmm: log on where and is that after I am already logged on with regular user id and password or do I log on with the ftp user id and password, Cause it aint workin ! HELP !:damn: give me the long stupid version of exactly how this process is done, at least the log in part, once I am in FTP the rest I have figured out....

I've used SmartFTP for years and have been very happy with it.

http://www.smartftp.com

You would log in with your ftp username and ftp password they gave you. With SmartFTP it is just drag and drop.

Do i need the FTP prg to download the file?


All i get is this when i try to dl

A new page pops up that is blank whit this text in.

When you add a file, just use this for the link in the Downloads Add file section:
http://www.subsim.com/mods1/gdc3/example_file.zip (http://www.subsim.com/mods1/gdc3/example_file.zip)

That is the URL that you use to set up your download. :yep:
