Got this photo, but can not tell if it's from an U-boat or not.

I would say yes. Looks like he is standing in the 'wintergarten' of a u-boat. Can't say what type. :hmmm:

I agree. The white thing you can see on his hat is most probably the left wing of the eagle.

Seems like one.
The circular safety bars indicate a round area there.
I cant recall any ships having such an area near the sides.
Plus, look down and right. That must be the periscope.
To me, it seems like a conning tower with one flak emplacement.

Edit:I have a slight feeling that he is Korvettenkapitan Gunther Prien.
Dunno though, i might be wrong.

What Lt.Fillipidis said. The thingy on the bottom right is definitely either the periscope well. :yeah:

I had the same suspicions. The stronger was the round area being the winter garden.
The description doesn’t help, since it's related to the meteor service.

It's like "Meteorologist in the Atlantic, an German meteorologist, aid by a weather balloon, determinate the speed and direction of the wind."

Looks like a TypeVII, not sure what variant though. Seeing this picture reminds me that i wish that we could have the kite observation craft in the game.

Looks like a picture from one of the many U-boats that were put on 'weather station' for the land and air offensive wether reports. Not a very popular task by all accounts.
