It looks like NFS is going sim and with the graphics they have always had I'll be checking this one out...hmm, I need to see if my wheel still works.

I'm faily certain that it will be a game too muhc like a simulator for the arcade racer bastards and too much of a arcade racer for simulator bastards so it will alienate both groups and be complete half assed crap.
Well it could allso be just another need for speed, in which case it will be full assed crap.
allso this belongs to the video gaming section.

It was a sad day when Papyrus got out of the 'high fideliety' sims.

NFS since the release of Most Wanted have been poor releases for me. Carbon was okay.
Didn't play the next one.
Undercover blew balls
Shift will suck if the last 2 are anything to go by.

I am glad to see something new for a change, and not the same thing over and over again. The graphics rock by the way :salute:

You might be taking the idea of a police state a bit too far if you want to police circuit racing with a patroll car.

No I was thinking more 'Hot Pursuit' style.
Even better if its online, then I can make people cry by spike stripping their brand new Porsche :smug:

Personaly I would prefer Interstate 76 style, just shoot the bastard with the two .50 cal machine guns mounted on the roof of your 'cuda. All the while some nice 70's jazz plays and some other guy reads silly poetry.
good times.

Slightly Mad Studios (the guys who are making the new NFS game) are the core of the old Simbin team. They made the GTR series of games, which were full-blown sims, and their legacy dates back to the GTR mods for the EA F1 games. So they have some very strong sim credibility.

Well that's some good news, there might be hope!

True ennough, but EA has a well earned reputation of ruining everything.

Better to look at the dim side of life, the exessive bloom used in modern video games on the bright side might cause vision loss.:88)

It will have to move from the arcade ranks straight out to the forefront of the cutting edge of simulations, IMO, or none of us die-hard "sim types" will ever be interested in it.
It's rFactor for me, these days, although I, too, came up through the Papyrus ranks (bit of a surprise to learn you might have too, SteamWake). ICR1, ICR2, GPL, and then N2003 in my case.
"iRacing," although I haven't tried it, would be the only other possible alternative to rFactor these days, I think.
