I had never read anything really on the U-Boats or their history, so went and picked up a few things...

Barnes and Noble 'bargain priced':
"U-Boat Combat Missions" by Lawrence Paterson...has some really nice pics of the inside of a U-Boat, with first hand accounts of life, missions, etc

Half Priced Books in Fort Worth
"In The Course of Duty" by Don Keith...about the USS Batfish...which I did not know is in Muskogee Oklahoma set up as a display or something? Can go into it? That's only like 4 hours north of here!

"WolfPack: the story of the U-Boat in WW2" by Gordan Williamson
looks really good, jumped on it for $14.98...over 260 pages

"7th UBoat Flotilla: Donitz's Atlantic Wolves" from the Spearhead series
for only $5.98 it looked like a good one. Reminds of me of Osprey series...

"Bitter Ocean" by David Fairbank White. have read a chapter so far, and seems ok...covers the Battle of the Atlantic 1939-1945, from the allies, merchant seamens' view as well as the Wolves...

Weapons at War DVD- Battle of the Atlantic-watched it 3 times already, all about the U-Boats, descriptions of interiors, etc

AND.....from Barnes and Noble for $10....Das Boot, DVD Director's Cut!!!

if you're in the Fort Worth area, there were alot of the above titles (except for WolfPack) at those stores...

Any other suggestions for reading/viewing?

For U-Boats, Operation Drumbeat is one of my favorites.

For US subs, Run Silent, Run Deep is obviously a must. I also liked Sea Assault!.
