What's the purpose and use of this function? What does it do? Got three of these in the past days, and have no idea what it is about.

Networking Skybird. Click on your User CP in the upper left hand corner. You will see Networking and list that follows. I have not gone any deeper than that. It is kind of like a facebook or myspace type deal.

I just sent you one. Click on the members name and it will show you things of interest about that person on your list. You can look at anyones points of interest by clicking on their screen name.

You can also restrict personal messages to only those people on your friends list. Sort of like a reverse ignore list :D

Yes, I just posted a message in your in box. It is not a PM message. All can see. The PM function is still available to you all at no charge. :D

Let see, let me hit DT now.

There, just tagged DT to become a friend. I tagged you also Skybird. Just a networking kind of thing.

Like Facebook, eh? :arrgh!: And limiting personal messages to friends on my list? But messages I send already go only to those people I adress, don't they? :hmmm:

I'm still not seing the point in it.

To those sending me such requests:
thanks, I feel honoured, but I will click them away, guys. That does not mean that I have anything against one of you. As a matter of fact I haven't. I just don't see any needed function in this... well, feature, or whatever it is.

Well, it is a forum within a forum. Say, you could carry on a conversation inside your forum or follow specific things without using the PM function. One can be creative with it.

The point is (and I should have stated it correctly earlier) you can limit your incoming personal messages to those on your friends list.

I block PMs from people not on my friends list because I just don't have time to reply to all my fan mail.

I feel privileged to have gotten one from Neal then. Glad I accepted. It seems he is my only friend however:wah:.

I reserving the friends for people I have actually met (you, niki, Steve, Bill, Jim, etc) or people who I have worked with on the website over many years.

I consider all of you friends, anyway :shucks:

Ahh yes, but I am in the very exclusive clique of those who have appeared in a picture with you by themselves.

Combine that with the mega exclusive club of those who have been found sleeping in practically every corner of your house.:salute:

I know I have already reached the pinnacle of subsim existence:woot:

Yeah, but did you partake of my finest meats and cheeses?

I for one do not wish to speculate what is meant by that.

You know you do really. Neal might have had more than one use for that webcam :rotfl:

@Rip.....You were the hero that gave a little thought for the tailend charlies during the convoy dash to the gun range and ensured everyone arrived at the correct venue. :salute:

You also managed (not that you knew at the time) to prevent Privateer from experiencing a bout of road rage :DL

BTW!!....what's that 'multi quote' option at the bottom right of each message? :hmmm:

It allows you to select more than one post to quote at a time, Jim.

My favorite moment had to be when we were eating and I glanced down the table and saw every single one of GWX group staring at me. I just somehow KNEW they were marvelling at how much I looked like Johann. :yeah:
