Well, I guess the day had to come. I am running this server without a control panel app, and I realize now I ain't got no Front Page Extensions on it. And I cannot get them, MS EOLed FP in 2006 :wah: Man, I hate learning new software to do what I already know how to do.
So, anyone wanna pitch in with their web app? Please, I know html and Notepad, but that's not an option.

Dunno Neal maybe you need to Update,
what you had before :hmmm:
In doing what I think you may have done,
Sites,Forums, etc, now need to be Compatible with Firefox,Explorer,
The latest Plugins,etc,etc,
I could be wrong:shucks: just a Suggestion,
Our Site alone had to look to the Future,
Not finished Yet, but done by a Pro Web Designer,
Tips I've learned never break up what is Good,
Site wise,Forum wise,etc,etc,
Or Reboot your System back to a Certain date?
I guess Look back,See whats best for Subsim,
Make your Judgement,
But if you Really need Help?
Let me know :arrgh!:

Hey Neal, if I'm reading this right all is not lost but you will need someone better versed at Command Line instructions.
This link details the process - http://thesystemadministrator.com/The_System_Administrator/Tips_&_Tricks/Install_Windows_Components_from_Command_Line/
If I am correct you should be able to install the extensions through that interface rather than the Add/Remove Components.
Alas, I know the basics only.
Edit - Actually, bring up the CMD line on your server and paste this command:
%windir%\system32\sysocmgr.exe /i:%windir%\inf\sysoc.inf
Does that bring up the components window on your server? If it does, I want a chufty badge.:smug: Or I've completely misunderstood the question and I'll have a .
Edit Edit - Sorry, should have been more specific. Select Internet Information Services (IIS) and then click Details. Then you can select to install the FrontPage Server Extensions.

Thanks, Dan. Alas, this is a Lynux server running CentOS. I have command line access but there server does not have the FPE kit on it, and with MS's edict forbidding distribution, I cannot get it. Owner is right, time for me to move on. I just resent it :arrgh!:
I went from FP to Web Expressions just because of the familiarity of the 2 programs, and less of a steep learning curve.
Web expressions is great for CSS and I am leaning more and more toward it.
You can still use extensions to publish with it, but they cut out most of the other extension dependent stuff in the program.
