Took almost a 9 month hiatus from silent hunter III, one dead pc,another rebuilt one later and I'm back and decided to give this GWX 3 gold a try. My last experience was with GWX1. I must say, I'm very happy new ships were added all across the board. More merchants,more warships and so on. For '39, I almost even got suckered by a DD!
Second attack on an eastbound convoy to the Irish Sea, go deep,hang out at 100 meters let the rear DDS go on by. They are both 60 degrees starboard. I think to maybe go up in depth a little. No; one doubles back and starts pinging. Luckily I did not give the order to come up and luckily no bounces off my hull. It still bugged me out a little, I went to 120. He ran parallel, then over me, then spun about and chased down his convoy. No damage, not even a depth charge run, but still makes me want to not rush things even in '39. I know in the 1st GWX, this never happened. I cringe to think what 42, much less 43 will be like. I might go "buck buck buccaaawww!" and chicken down to Freetown later on.
Great job, GWX Dev Team! Operation Weserabung will begin soon, looking forward to it. Also looking forward to Operation Juno too. Upcoming patrol has our U-47 going to AM19. Rockall Bank treated my boats well in the past with many convoys, hopefully it does so in GWX 3.
