Extra diesel fuel..

Just curious.. (sorry my bad english)

I read some place on the net, that american fleet boat carried with them extra diesel fuel to increase the range, and this extra diesel fuel was stored in ballast tanks that was originally designed for sea water (ballast). And this is the reason for them sitting so deep in the water (stern tip of the hull is below the surface in some pictures i seen).

My question is: what was the actually range with diesel in the ballast tank and is this modelled in the sim? or is the range just with diesel in the fuel tanks only?

Well that or select unlimited fuel or me miserly with your fuel (run at 9.5 knots, submerge rarely).

Note the game doesent list fuel by quantity as in gallons or liters, rather it lists percentage 0-100. Where this fuel is actually stored is irrelevant for game purposes.

Like i said at first "just curious"......
I thought i could ask a little not nessesarily about sh4 only, but WW2 subs in general,
as it is a very interesting subject to me.... I look for info a little longer and "deeper" next time.
