View Full Version : Woman arrested over custard attack on politician

Good! I watched this on TV the other day and was appalled. I don't know enough about the politician to have an opinion of him, but that's irrelevant. No one should have to endure such behavior from some dopey self righteous idiot of a woman. This kind of attention-seeking lack-of-consequence attitude makes me crazy. I felt the same way when that stupid bastard threw his shoes at President Bush. He should have been locked up too. These can all fall under the banner of an attack on a public official.

This is a stupid way to rally support. At least with shoes, you could say that they are very offensive in Middle Eastern cultures, but no one takes custard seriously.

I don't know enough about the politician to have an opinion of him,
Mandy is a slimy corrupt bastard who should never have been allowed back into cabinet . While his long list of dodgy finances should be enough for anyone to despise him I personally think his special relationship with the nice arms dealers supplying the Khartoum regime and janajaweed militia really stand out for special condemnation .

She realy is "plane stupid" excuse the bad joke there :$
Mandelson is corrupt and a bit of an ar$e but we need to expand and well i dont maybe support the 3rd runway maybe another off shore airport like kansai taking all the traffic.

True , expanded capacity is needed .
But is Heathrow suitable ? Traffic is already a nightmare and that section of the M25 is like a big car park most of the time .
They threw away a good oppertunity when they ripped up Greenham Common , plenty of room for expansion , close to the motorways , easily joined to the rail network and as close or closer to London than other "London" airports like Luton or Stanstead . As far as I can see the only problem with Greenham would have been the civilian flight exclusion zones around Aldermaston and Burghclere .

Only other option is london southend airport expand that and do civilian passenger flights at the moment its a very small cargo airport that is capible of handling a 737 at the most, maybe divert some of the flights into southend airport there is the ability to link two rail networks to it one passes at end of runway, ok not enough room to expand really without a large demolition programme for some parts but still its that or another area.
We have no space in this country really any more!

GROAN... hehehe :yeah:
Silly though, I don't like some of these wacko green groups (Plane Stupid is a good name), I almost wonder if they weren't set up by the government or pro-industry groups to discredit the rest of the movement. :hmmm:
Still I can't say I don't get a smile on my face when the high and mighty get a pie in the face. :smug:

Shoes might cause injuries?:06:

I'd have a to disagree here.
Where I live, and where I've lived recently, plane stupid folks are, well, plain bloody stupid. In London, they have a legitimate gripe and cause, with the 3rd runway controversy at Heathrow. In the 2 major American cities I've seen them represented in, they argue about, well, the presence of airplanes. The fact that they make noise, the flight patters, etc. You know, people that move into a neighborhood under the approach path of KPHL's runways then bitch about the noise and traffic.
When I lived in Vegas, the local plane stupid morons who lived on the west side of town, the folks with money and nice houses, complained of the airplanes going over their houses, noise, etc without one single thought to the fact that Vegas survives on tourism, and those annoying little planes are what brings their salaries and lifestyles to their doors.
Plane stupid is a bad name for an organization that acts so plainy stupid.

Simple answer here is MOVE ! plenty of plane enthusiasts would like to buy your house, and to avoid the same mistake of moving near another airport again think of location and area and is there an airport near by.
These same people who complain about the airport being thier back garden probably use it and say stuff like i do like being so close it means we dont have to pay the earth to park our car in the car park, or pay extorionate train fare or bus fare before we go on holiday.
you dont mind when its conveniant for you but when its not stuff everyone else right?

I enjoyed the day John Prescott struck back in a similar situation:
