SH4 patch to v1.5 UBMissions

No problem with any version of Silent hunter upto v 1.4 plays perfect and all mods i want work perfect.:DL
major problem upgrade v1.5 - UBMissions. :wah: when i install there is no notice of anything wrong. when I try to play sceen shows new UB Missions (real nice). but about 2/3 way thru loading ERROR pops up can not load "? TGA and lots of symbles, then something about dynamic link library... from then on every thing fails... ?
need help, any suggestions have burnt the cd addon 2 times check AOK best I know.

You need mods that were created for the 1.5 uboat patch. You old mods for 1.4 will not work.

so your saying remove the 1.4 mods before I install addon 1.5.
any thing to see if it will work.... I'll give that a try right now.

Hell yes! Remove those mods. Need a clean install of SH4 before loading the SH4 1.5 add-on. Also, those 1.4 mods will no longer work. You need to zip over to the mods forums for the mods that work with 1.5.

100% thank you. i did a clean install of SH4 - upgraded to SH4 v1.4 - upgraded to
SH4 v1.5 and voila I tested the UBM's.

For your information, 1.5 changes the main file that controls the objects and items on screen. Any previous mod you have made changes to the 1.4 file will probably not work in 1.5. If any mods you were using before the upgrade contained a Menu_1024_768.ini file will cause the problem you described.

Also 1.5 contains all of the previous patch changes so patching to 1,4 is not necessary. When I do a reinstall I load the game from the DVD and run the U Boat mission expansion.

Are you sure that 1.5 has all the patches for 1.4? I was having game problems and UBIsoft tech support suggest that I install all of the patches for 1.4. I am not sure if he was familiar with SH. Anyway, if he is correct, can I install them after I have installed the UBoat add on? And where can I download the patches, as I assume installing them cannot cause more issues than I am experiencing now?

I'm not proof positive that the downloaded version of 1.5 has all the patches but I believe it does contain all patches. I never hurts to install the patches in the order they need to be anyway.

What I have is the download version of SH4 UBM 1.5. which when installed works , and has all the right stuff. i play a partial game to see what it was like... NEET.
but then I'm an old UB Captain from SH1 up thru.
I then installed the downloadable patch UBM 1.5.1 by snaptrap. The original game crashed, but when I restarted from port. all went AOK. patch 1.5.1 is scarey the speed is 25 kph on full speed. Wow crash dive would be scarey that way.. have not had any fights yet.

Well all I know for sure is that I have never run the 1.4 patch after I got the 1.5 expansion and have never had a problem with the game or mods. I just think that patching over patches increases the chance of something going wrong.

Very true,The U-Boat Missions,
needs a Clean SH4 1.4 Install,
Old Discs of SH4 need to be Patched to 1.4,
Available on Ubisoft.com
Latest Discs are already Patched to 1.4,

I'd have to read again, but i thought the readme said any version of 1.2 thru 1.4 would work. not the original. but it sure does work on v1.4. I have also tried snapshot 1.5.1 which is OK but the speeds for me are 100% to fast. Flank is 50kts. :ping: and slow is 10 to 11 kts.:ahoy: . also it takes 3 to 4 torps to sink a T3 Tanker.
so I'm back to looking for a different mod, or I might try to redo this one . :arrgh!: slow it down some!
