I started SH4 with TMO 1.62 I'd finished 4 patrols by Oct of 42 when 1.63 came out. So I unloaded 1.62, loaded 1.63, and started a new career. My first career was out of Pearl, and I had the USS Drum. My 1.63 career (different captain name) had a couple patrols complete out of Guam. I got all the messages to shift base to Fremantle.
I made it all the way back to Fremantle, saved just before entering port, then entered port and called it a night. 2 days later (now) I reloaded that save and put to sea, not paying any attention to the sub until it loaded.
WTF??? I'm in the Drum, out of Pearl, in March of 42! That ain't right.
I loaded the "autosave on entering port" - put me at Pearl in the Drum. Still not right.
So I loaded my save from before entering port. Hooray, I'm back in the Salmon, with my 1 poor lonely torpedo left. But wait... Fremantle is no longer my home port. As a matter of fact, I have NO home port. None of the anchors anywhere are tilted. Do they hate me that much? Am I destined to become the next flying dutchman, cruising the seas with no end in sight?
The last message in my list tells me to shift base of operations to Fremantle. I guess I'll go in and pound on somebody's de
