Where's the option for "let the sharks have him?"
I'm all for saving ecosystems.:arrgh!:

I hate to break it to you guys but if any of us was lost at sea we would receive the same rescue priority and mission assets as those NFL players...
... only difference being that WE wouldn't be national news if we were lost.
our plight simply wouldn't receive national media attention like theirs did.
My bud is a C-130 driver - he is out on these little "missions" almost weekly, its pretty routine and should serve as no surprise to anyone.
the media likes to incite people - the amount of SAR attention these guys received is pretty standard... its just that this particular case was media heavy.
if it was my ass out there sitting on a capsized boat - yes i would have all those assets out searching for me... you would just never hear about it!

It's the internnal law of the sea-you have to help with whatever's available. That's my understanding anyway.
I remember a few years back a bunch of solo round the world yatchies got into a lot of trouble riding the roaring forties south of Australia. A big storm (suprise! suprise!) capsized at least one boat.
Regardless that these adventurers deliberately put themselves in harm's way the RAN went 3000 km in very rough weather and saved the guy. They put themselves at risk to haul some clown's arse out of a fire he felt complled to sit in.
I was all for letting him enjoy his little act of derring do alone in a sinking yatch, but that's the law of the sea for you.

The thing is, to protest against PETA, SUBMAN1 would force feed himself to sharks.:yep:

Well, if Subman did turn up missing at sea, I'd have to activate the SUBSIM Coordinated Action Group to go look for him, the forums would be too peaceful without him.:shucks:

Well, if Subman did turn up missing at sea...
But if he turned up, he wouldn't be missing, would he?
And if he was missing, he wouldn't have turned up.
But if he was missing and turned up, then he wouldn't be missing anymore.
I hate it when you confuse me.

Stop overloading your brain like that, or you'll wake up in a coma one day.

For the love of everything, why does my mind picture it like a sequence from a Heman cartoon.

Kinda reminded me of Power Rangers. Also, if subbie is indeed lost, then why don't we have the Estonian Navy look for him? ( No offense, Anti, but it was the most suited service I could think of. :D )
