hey, has anyone played this? aside from the fact you get to fly (very realistically, i might add) the X-15 and land the Space Shuttle, you can also fly the F-4 from a carrier, and you can do all sorts of fun stuff with helicopters.
I forgot to mention that with the X-15, you can be airdropped from a B-52 just like the real thing
(I have actually flown it better than Bill Knight, Mach 6.8:rock: )
the game uses a different flight model/engine than FSX. instead of reading the aicraft data, it judges how well that airfoil would work actually going through the air.
its really fun (although it really messes up my refresh rate from time to time)
and i really suggest buying it if you havent done so

What you mean is called table-based versus formula-based flight models. ;)
Best formula-based flight model I know is Condor. If soaring realistically is your thing, try it. Flying on a PC does not get any better.

Hi Skybird
Good to see that you are still flying the Condor flag. Racing it online is just the best flying available. And so much scenery for free....... :DL

The feeling I get on the x-plane forums though is that the programmer is a bit of a control freak and took what many consider to be quite a good function out of the sim and when people complained he lanked them or threw a hissy fit.

Even some photo scenery, although not all of it free anymore.
However, I must admit I fly it only rarely, currently. I'm a push-buttons!-addict.

Damn those buttons that require pushing :damn:
:D
Oh, those buttons!
4 min of buttons (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLkfx6QxLfg&feature=related)
Notice this is not a touch screen, but a homebuilt "power glove" using Wii with Black Shark. This should be the new flight sim gadget sooner or later I guess :yep:

That gadget would come handy in political debates, wouldn't it...? :DL
No need for a glove to push the buttons of political opponents... :DL
Maybe there is an infinite argument machine somewhere out there though, much like Umberto Ecos machine of infinite metaphors in one of his books, that could be tinkered with wearing the glove.
