Just the other day watching discovery which featured the uss nimitz. It made me wonder why has nobody ever tried making a carrier simulator. I mean there is plenty stuff to do on a carrier and if done right it could be a blast. For example if they would simulate both the carrier itself but also have the the ablitaty actually jump in the pilots seat i think it would appeal to many potentiol players. So it would be a mix of a combat flightsim and a naval sim . If you get tired of driving the carrier and wants some action jump in the f-18 and get some action.

There have been some games that simulate the Pacific carrier battles of World War 2 and quite a few that cover flying the carrier planes themselves. Since a carrier is mostly just a mobile airport of sorts I don't how much interest there would be in it alone. I'm curious to find out. However, since the carrier is just the center piece of a battlegroup you'd probably also have the simulate how the escorts interact with the carrier as well as they are providing most of the carrier's anti aircraft and anti submarine defence.

Here is a upcoming game with carriers. Not a sim, though:

Jane's Fleet Command included carriers, complete carrier strike groups actually (carrier + escorts). Quite interesting to manage flights from it; selecting aircraft loadouts, placing them on varies levels of redieness and pray to god you had the right aircraft with the right loadout standing by when you needed them.

No flying action though.
