I wonder if the UK have any plans to replace their ageing Harriers :hmmm: :DL

We're replacing the Fleet Air Arm with the F-35s Jim, just got to wait for the new aircraft carriers :03:

Nice....good to know. I was only aware of the demise of the Sea Harrier version, thus leaving us without any shipborne capability.

Yeah, sadly we've still got to go at least another three years without any shipborne air ability I think, just have to hope that we don't get attacked by someone who actually knows what they're doing with their navy :o

EDIT: Longer than that actually, I just read that the Queen Elizabeth class carriers have been pushed back even further to 2014-2016 :( So unless we can slap them on the Invincible class carriers, which I guess in theory we could, we're kinda stuck until then.
Just reading through the article for the F-35, seems there was a bit of a hoohah between the US and UK over the Lightning II and BAe's handling of sensitive US technology.

No suprises there then....we'll probably get them at a knockdown/giveaway price when they'r almost obsolete :hmmm:
