Running SH4 v1.4 and JSGME'd "SILENT SERVICE GRAPHICS MOD 1.2c for SH4".

Received an error dialog saying "File not found data/menu/data/black80.tga".

To be fair, I had some other mods installed as well but hadn't a problem until now. Removed all of the mods back to vanilla SH4 v1.4 but still get same error dialog (even after full reboot.)

Have v1.5 on the way...

Should I wait and just install v1.5 to see if all is well or should I reinstall v1.4 to get back to ground zero?

Can I save my career and saved games in either case?

Thanks in advance for any help, mates!

are you sure the mod was for your game version?

if you jsgmed it then uninstall it and your fine, whats the problem?

The uninstall program gives you the option to retain all your saved games. If you are missing a file and do not have a backup of the installed game to replace it, then re-installing will fix the problem. Move all non-Sh4 files to another place before uninstalling or they will be gone. After reinstalling I suggest you burn some DVDs with the files from the game or copy the install to a different hard drive folder.

That graphics mod works equally well with 1.4 and 1.5. I installed it in 1.5 yesterday as a matter of fact. I really like it a lot. For some reason you need a reinstall. You can do it and save your games etc. After you reinstall, copy the whole shooting match over to a directory called something like "\Pristeen SH4 1.4" and write protect it. This way you can always restore files or the whole thing without reinstalling. Just copy into your game directory and you're good to go!:yeah:

Thanks for the suggestions!

I saved my game files and also made a backup copy of SH4. Then I reinstalled SH4 up to v1.4 and all is working again.

Now I know how it feels to be "on the beach"...
