Media player won't play an ogg file. Which program will work so I can review the in game sound files?

WinAmp for sure. Free version will read/play them, too.

There is a download of an ogg plugin to get WMP to play ogg files. I tried it, but it doesn't work on my vista machine

The real question is where did that obscure sound file come from and why did they use it? :hmmm:

They used it because it's free and open source. Vorbis is used in quite a few games.

If you're interested, check out the wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorbis).

Any decent mediaplayer will play Ogg Vorbis out of the box ;). I use Foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org/) in Windows, it's freeware and easy on system resources. Guess everyone has their favourite...

IrfanView lets you play .ogg files much the same way as it shows your pictures.
Very good free ware prog.
