Sick yes - suprising - no. Just one more length that those with a POLITICAL agenda will use the regionally dominant theology (which happens to be a political one) to their ends.

Their entire culture for the most part is interwoven with the Islamic religion. There is no separation. Variations of fanaticism indeed! Since we have seem more of the Modus Operandi of this fanatic culture it makes me want to re-visit the history of the Crusades and read it in light of the current situation.

True however the latter is the impetious for the former.

Although some would argue they follow a perverted version of Islam.

The difference in Max - that in the modern world, other world recognized religions do not advocate killing innocents, murdering unbelievers, using force to conquer the world, etc. Islam does.

Its not tne extremists that are perverting islam - they actually are simply being very fundamental with their following of it. Study it and you will see it for what it is - a political path to power based on the threat or action of force, disguising itself as a religion.

Yes.

I remember a story from Iran, long time ago, where revolutionary guards held a group of young girls in prison. They could not execute them as they wanted, for that was violating some precious honest law. So they raped them all, which enabled them to exceute them as dirty whores afterwards and in consistency with the precious honest law.

Call it a superior form of higher logic.

Like any religion, Islam has its contradictions. For every passage advocating violence, you can find some that forbid it. The extremists are literally following parts of their religion, but they are also violating key parts of it.

Other religions can also be interpreted as advocating violence. Hindu nationalists have used their religion as justification for anti-Muslim violence in India. A Jew used his religion as justification for murdering the Prime Minister of Israel for trying to make peace with the Palestinians. The worst terrorist attack on the United States before 9/11 was carried out by a Christian fanatic. Christians used Christianity as a justification to slaughter other Christians in Northern Ireland.

In essence, most religious violence is the same even though it's done in the name of different religions. This is a good book on the subject: http://www.amazon.com/Terror-Mind-God-Religious-Comparative/dp/0520232062

Oh please, not just again, no again the very same stuff that soon again. We just have had our "let's put Islam into relation"-lament of the week - and a myriad of them before.

Let's spend this one month of March without any religious threads, okay? Just one month.

The human mind and soul must be a funny place for evil spirits to see how much they can get away with ...

Somewhere along the line a person has to say no to such evil thoughts.

This is a new low in lying to acheive the means :yep:
