How do you turn on the 360 compass in the Navigator room?

I'm not quite sure what you mean, turn on?:hmmm:

If your talking about the navagation tools in the top right corner, all you have to do is click on the ? mark and then you will have acess to the compass tool

I think he means something like this:

It's called a bearing overlay, or bearing tool. And is infact a replacement for your uboot icon.

Maybe this works for u. When I opened it witrh Xnview graphical editor it looked corrupted. But maybe this is just on my end.

How do you turn on the 360 compass in the Navigator room?
Right click on the navigators icon and you can look around from his point of view. The same works for the other officers.

Maybe he's talking about the "?" button. It's on the top toolbar, the last button, IIRC.

That button doesn't do any thing.

It does in my stock version. It toggles some of the tools to alternate versions. For example the ruler tool becomes a circle showing the 360 compass points such that when you draw a line with it, you can see bearing as well as distance.

Also the pencil marker tool turns into a depth chart showing what depth each color on the nav map represents.
