View Full Version : Essential Mods?
I just placed an order for SH3 and like to know what other essential mods besides GWX3.0 do I need? I am looking at:
Commander 2.7
Hitman's Optics – not sure if this is part of GWX3
Any other mods that are must have around the campaign, skins, etc…??
Thanks.

SH3 Commander is the only true essential besides the supermod of your choice. After that it's a matter of taste. I have over 20 other mods in my game after GWX3, and to me they're all 'essential'. But pretty much everybody would disagree with one of my choices or another, so all we can really do is give you our favorites and let you decide for yourself.
Me?
FLB Sales' Simfeeling 6-Dials Mod
Das Boot Sound Mod (you'll get a lot of different opinions on the 'best' sound mod)
Lifeboats, with Rowers
Waterstreams, with Exhaust Smoke
Kiel Canal Locks Mod
Hitman's new compass
Das Boot Clothes Mod
Assisted Plotting Mod
AIL Small Moon Mod
Pascal's Port People
Sean's Type IIB skin, converted for Type IIA
Early War Eagle on the conning tower
16Km mod
SH3 Weather
SH3 Gen
My own Loading Screen Randomizer
Many many new gramophone tracks
And a bunch more I can't remember, and I can't look at my list because I'm not at home right now. How many of them are truly essential? Probably none - but I like them all.
Oh, and get Commander 3.2 - it's vastly improved

The choice of mods is obviously down to individual preference....a read through the forum or even a visit here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=141242 should help you decide. http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/thumbsup.gif
