Noobiest question ever

Hello, i have the noobiest question ever.

I can't figure out how to spend the renown i have on the U Boat screen. To get new crew in the barracks, there is an enlist button when you click on a seaman or officer but nothing on the U Boat screen, i can't get new torpedos even the ones that don't cost renown or get a new sub. :damn:

Yes i know, rtfm but there is only a pdf in the version i bought and it doesn't explain much.

Just click and hold the crew man you would like to add to your sub then point to the Compartment you would like to place the new crewman in and release. Same with the torpedoes



to replace the sub you need to Double click the new sub you want when it is available

Before starting your first patrol don't purchase any equipment upgrades (it's probably not a good idea to buy new crewmen or officers either). There is a long standing & unsolved bug in the game that may prevent you from getting credit for any ships that you sink during that 1st patrol. One workaround is to wait until you've completed your 1st patrol then do any upgrading just before you leave for your 2nd one. Or you can perform a "shakedown" cruise: leave the harbour as you would in a normal patrol, do a few maneuvers (diving to periscope depth, etc.) & return to base. You won't get credit for anything of course but you won't lose any renown either & you can now upgrade your boat and get credit for any tonnage that you sink since you're now on your 2nd patrol.

Just remembered this. Purchasing crewmen/officers who have a renown cost of zero should be okay for your 1st patrol. It's when you buy ones with qualifications that might result in the "no credit for tonnage sunk on your 1st patrol" bug.
