Can anyone tell me how to reduce the number of aircraft in GWX 2.1 and GWX 3?

I've made up a single mission involving the Graf Zeppelin carrier, but when ever she meets enemy ships, up to 50 German aircraft turn up. Between the ship and aircraft action it's too much for my pc and the game crashes.

Strangely, even though most of the action is between Scapa and the Shetland Isles, there's hardly a British aircraft ever seen.

50 Stuka's seems a bit excessive in that area, specially in 1942.

How do i edit the number of aircraft that turn up?

I need a lot less German and a few more British.

Or perhaps there's a way of disabling the aircraft layer so i can add an air layer for the mission myself?

As for adding or removing aircrafts/airfields in the editor I have no idea.
But the 50 Stukas comes from Graf Zeppelin. If you go to SilentHunterIII\data\Sea\NCV_GrafZeppelin and open NCV_GrafZeppelin.cfg you can edit the line: Squadron1No=50 and set it to a lower number.
I donīt know if that could have adverse effects in campaign mode.

Thanks dude :DL, i'll do as you say.

I figured they were meant to be coming from the carrier, which is classed as an elite airbase, but since they can't be "launched" from a carrier i thought they'd originate from a land base.

I obviously wasn't thinking in computer logic :oops:

As for adverse effects in campaign mode, i don't think it will affect the air cover from land bases. Should just mean that the carrier launches less aircraft, though doubtless someone will correct me if need be.

Just had a look through the cfg's of all the carriers, and the Illustrious, Essex, Bogue and Casablanca have squadrons of just 2 or 3 aircraft.

The Aquila and Graf Zep have squadrons of 50.

Lowered them to 5.

Minor glitch with the squadron numbers there i think, fixed thanks to you Lzs.
