Okay, so I been playing SH IV 1.5 with TMO 1.63 and heres what I have observed so far in about three careers (two months of consistent play). Despite having my realism set for 100% I have experience only 2 dud torpedoes and several premature detonations. I would say my experience is an 95% percent success rate with my attacks which I feel is way to high. I have yet to have a torpedo miss as a deep runner.
Another thing is the weather, I have only experience about 4 days total of rain and poor visiblity conditions. Every day is almost clear sunny skies. I'm sure the South pacific has some nice days but this seems a little unusal to me that most days are this beautiful. I may experience some windy rough seas but the sky is still clear blue. I guess I was conditioned by the bleak hunting conditions in SHIII.
Anyone else experience this? I thinking that my TMO Mod is not correctly loaded by the JSGME program. If I reload the MOD using JSGME will that screw up my current saves?

Thats strage...In the first 3 years youll get a significant number of duds if youre using the MK14, about 4 in 12 fired. Are you using MK14 or MK10?
Secondly, uninstalling TMO and installing again via JGME will not affect your campaign or your save files. You can safely try that.
Cheers!
Re weather: I've been playing TMO 1.6.3 since it came out. I get varied wx; storms, nice days, fog, rain. The only thing I've noticed that seems too prevelant is a lot of 15 meter per second wind days. Other than that the wx cycles.

I am using MK14 torps, I was expecting most of them to be duds, prematures, or deep runners especially in 1941-42 years. I will reinstall TMO and hopefully that fixes the overly reliable torp problem. The perfect sunny days is also annoying to me as well.

I've played TMO since it was called "Flavored to Taste" and I'm currently using 1.63 and I have seen MANY duds and also a wide variance of weather.
When you start the game, do you see a splash screen showing a black and white picture of a sub and in big letters it will say "Trigger Maru Overhauled"? It will be very obvious it you have it installed correctly. If you're not seeing this, you need to check your install. If it is your install, my guess would be that your folder structure is wrong or you have not unzipped (extracted) the files first.
If your install is ok, you have been very lucky with the duds. My understanding is that the dud factor is somewhat random, so you can go through periods of many, or few of them.

Somethings not right. With TMO the number of failed torps should be the same, regardless of contact set. If you set to contact only, you will have less prematures but more duds, influence, more prematures, but less duds.
Shooting at low speeds at sharper angles cuts down some, but not much.

I definately have the Trigger Maru splash screen as it loads as well as all the new sounds effects and such. Hopefully the reload will fix it. If not I'll try out RFB. I do like the challenging escorts of TMO, though. I had several attacks attempts disrupted by vigilant escorts.

Give TMO a little longer, the weather WILL change. I don't know if this is still the case, but in the past (earlier patches and mods) it was reported that extremely high time compression may effect weather changes. This may no longer hold true. I wouldn't know, as I rarely go above X 1024 TC.
AS for duds, like I have said, there is SOME randomness (is that a word ? lol :DL ) I have gone through periods of nearly no duds and then suddenly get four in a row or maybe six out of ten being duds. You just never know. It's not like, "well, I fired four good ones now, the next will be a dud". If you get my drift.
