Is there a BSOD database?

I've tried looking before but couldn't find anything. It's not related to my computer or anything. I'm just interested in other types of BSODs and am trying to research them. Does anyone know of a good database or something that lists BSODs by error and what it may mean? I'm not real interested in the error code since I don't know what those mean anyway. :88)

Probably would be better in the tech subgroup.

If your trying to correct a BSOD - usually its easier to do so via the file that it lists that caused the error - rather then the memory address / error code.

For example - a certain group of USB to serial adapters caused me some issues awhile back. The problem - the ser2pl.sys file. Its a windows driver file - but most companies update or create their own. Wrong file version - or from the wrong manufacturer - or a corrupt file - and you have BSOD's every time the device is accessed.

I'm not trying to cure a BSOD. I'm just curious what some other BSODs are. It's really for my dumb curiosity. :88)

Bsod's occur for so many reasons its not funny. I don't even think SQL could handle all that data in a searchable repository. If it happens on a computer - its likely caused a BSoD for somebody somewhere.

For some reason I just had to laugh at that. When something goes wrong with a computer it could be any one of a dozen things. That's about the time I start banging my head on my desk. :dead:
