The wife ordered some stuff from them (they usually have decent enough stuff) for Christmas, and somehow got added to a sort of "negative option" program where they charge $15/month, forever in return for some discount. I cancelled that today, and got the $30 refunded.

Regardless, it's a really shady thing to do. The same company apparently owns "Norm Thompson" and "Solutions" catalogs and does the same thing. There is a coupon in the invoice email, and if you click it, you are signed up, and then have to figure out how to cancel assuming you realize you are signed up. My wife didn't notice, and she's no idiot (she has 2 doctorates, after all).

I cancelled all their catalogs, too. Morons.

This is why you have to pay attention to your bank accounts on a steady basis. Good thing you noticed and they refunded you.

Edit: Although I've accidently charged 99 dollars to my parents bank account when I signed them up for amazon prime. It was supposed to be a trial, but it didn't tell you that you needed to cancel before they start charging you. Basically for 99 dollars you get free overnight shipping on all your packages.

That is a cheesy way to do business.

I would not be motivated to do business with a company who would do that. :nope:
