Hi to all this is an odd thing so I thought I'd post it in the mods and the basic SH3 forums as I'm hoping someone may have had a similar experience.
OK - I've been playing SH3 happily for years - this evening and out of the blue when I clicked on the usual SH3 icon my Avira Anti Virus program flashed up the following warning:
C:\ProgramFiles\Ubisoft\SilentHunter\MissionEngine .dll is the TR/Crypt.ZPACK.GEN Trojan
Can any one tell me what’s going on - Avira gave me options to delete, ignore etc originally I selected delete which caused my game to become impossible to run.
So then I encountered the usual difficulties uninstalling and then reinstalling blah blah - Thank god for Mr. SquareSteelBar (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/member.php?u=225594) and his SH3 RegClean (http://www.mediafire.com/?wngwd6yie9u) He should put this on a sticky cos I imagine when the Merchant Fleet comes out a few people will be wanting, or will need a clean install. And this seems to be the best way to ensure a complete uninstall.
So the question is does any one know what is going on with this Avira warning?
Best Regards
Rascal
