From the White House (http://www.whitehouse.gov/assets/documents/Recovery_Act_state-by-state_jobs_2-131.pdf)....

Also, www.recovery.gov is launched, to help track where the money is going...

Excellent! This is the way government should work.

Not getting into whether this is a good plan or not, but for the government to post the information for the public to review, including links to the actual bill wording, is a good step. :yeah:

yea... after its already a signed, sealed and delivered fact. What happened to 5 days BEFOREhand so the people can speak on it?

Its now law - they HAVE to make it public now. Sheesh.

I'm guessing this was one of those "emergency" bills that he said he wouldn't wait to hear from us on. Besides, campaign promises are exactly what they always have been (a big fat steaming pile of horse crap).

Bills have been available for viewing in the past. He's not providing anything new except a link to them (and the unkept promise, of course).

NOT the topic to discuss this in!

As for my state it depends on Jindal. And what he wants to do ahead of the state of the union.

Good points, both of you.
My opinion is that the White House report is worthless, however. What an administration or the congress claims is supposed to happen and what actually happens haven't ever really been similar. Just look at the Congressional budget committee. Despite being staffed with a host of experts, the budget almost never adds up in the end. And they are dealing with accounting mathematics. What should be a simple matter of determining expenditures for the Federal government in a fiscal year ends up being hopelessly flawed and the subject of legislative debate.
You'll have to forgive me for believing that similar authorities don't have a snowball's chance in hell of accurately determining how many jobs may be created because of legislation.
And that's not even mentioning the questionable logic of allowing "the fox to guard the henhouse". We should trust government legislation because it is supported by state legislative committees? Really? In that case, let's all be communists. I hear Kim Jong Il's approval rating is at an all-time high. The party says it is true!

GoldenRivet is entirely correct in his supposition that most people "don't give a damn". That's the direct result of our state-controlled education system. Children grow up believing what the state wants to teach them. Many honestly think that they live in a "democracy" and that our government has made wise decisions in the past. Why should they care? They have the greatest government in the world to take care of them. They believe it so much that even the pitiful state of the U.S. education system cannot change their minds. Despite the billions invested in state education every year, and the complete lack of results, they still believe it.
The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.

The state must be stopped, and it must be stopped soon. Other nations have travelled this path and it has never led to good results.
