nvidia 8800GT settings - openGL or Direct3D?

I'm trying to get the most out of my new Graphics card. is SH4 an openGL or direct 3d platform? does anyone have settings that have worked that they can send me?

It is 3D direct X, not open GL.

I believe that all the latest release of NVidia GPU are optimized for directX performance not OpenGL. Sucks I know. NVidia has been bought by Microsoft and this is I suppose one of the consequences. Eeer was it Intel.....lol
