SH4 1.4 manual patch?

So, I lost my Silent Hunter IV CD's again :damn: (I still have the case box and CD-Key....just no cd.....)
Noticed that it was on steam and bought it. (Failed to notice the pack with III, IV and U-Boat)
Now, for some reason steam is still using 1.3 :(
Each time I run the installer it can't find the game (knew it was going to fail but worth a try) Is there the 1.4 patch somewhere in a Zip / Rar / 7z file so that I can kinda enable it with JSGME
I know that once I get U-Boat mission the problem will get "fixed", I'm just trying to find a solution before I can go out and get it

Edit: maybe the installer is looking for the registery key for the game info, I wonder if I can trick the installer thinking that its installed at that location....unless its looking for something else / files that its replacing

If I'm not mistaken, any new purchases of SH4 should have all included patches. You are saying you are not patched to 1.4 after making the purchase? :shifty:

Steam does not have 1.4, they have 1.3

Since Steam needs to get the patch / get permission to apply the patch (or something along the line of that)

I do not know who and or what Steam is other than vapor from boiling water. I would ask for my money back and get the complete game download from UBI:salute:

Probably lodging a support request with Valve and Ubi would be the best way to go.

well, I sent a e-mail to valve (steam) and I can't seem to find one for UBI....oh well

i dont understand, why it would need to "find the game" it IS the game. just do a new install and dont try to use your old install.

are you sure you didnt buy the ubm v1.5 ad-on instead?

sh3 is sh3 and all patches are free from ubisoft and illegal to sell

sh4 is sh4 and all patches are free from ubisoft and illegal to sell
(except the sh4 ubm v1.5 ad-on which is sold seperately for $10)

so the only thing you can buy that already needs the game there is the sh4 ubm v1.5 ad-on

anyway another solution is you can borrow sh4 from a friend and just install it with your key

He bought Silent Hunter 4: Wolves of the Pacific.

Just buy the uboat add-on to see if it will update your SH4 to V 1.5... its only $10.

will the game work as is like you got it? it should, because it doesnt need any part of the game already on your computer in order to install and to work.

if you gott that far, what is the exact name of the patch your trying to install, the file name not what its called.


it could be the patch only recognizes the v1,0 of the game and you have 1.3

my guess is that no matter what you bought, it sounds like you were given the ad-on instead of the game

yes, people reported that with U-Boat mission the game gets patched to 1.5.
I just need to wait awhile before I can buy it (kinda tight on the budget, but I guess I can squeeze 10$ out of something)

as far as I know, I'm the only one that plays SH4

edit: well I can play the game normaly, today I started a campaign, detected some merchant... time lapse...oh resumed with them right on top, I quickly aimed and fired....... 1 torp hit per ship.... admiring my work of destruction then I notice something.... Amarican flag! oh no! at least the fire looked cool from the reflection on the water since it was night. I just wanted the patch for the mods since I noticed that RFB was looking for a file that was non-existant :(

also from steam support Patches for third party games can only be distributed through Steam once the following two actions have occured:

(1) The Publisher has provided us with the necessary files
(2) The Publisher has given us permission to release the update

The latest patches will be released as soon as possible.
